Womans work
Here it is Sunday night again so I guess I can add a few more shots taken this weekend. Worked on adding Hep cabling, entrance door grab iron’s and made ends for the coach and coach baggage(no pics yet). Getting burned out on these things as it’s quite repetitive and tedious. I’m gonna finish these three hopefully by ECLSTS then take a break I believe. For those that are contemplating copying this build all I can say is have plenty of patience and good luck! I’ve already figured out the how to make it part for you but these cars are a lot of work and not 100% correct!

WOW. They even stand up well to the super close up shots. Nice work.
Jon Radder said:I feel they stand fair but the tape scratches easily and the close shots don't blow my dress up yet! Perhaps if I dirty them up a bit? I know you like the cabling Jon, so do I and it could be functional for battery if needed? Did I just say battery? :)

David Russell said:I knew you were unhappy with the tape scratching, and looked at your close-ups with a critical eye. I don't think the scratches and small dents are objectionable, unless you are attempting to model cars that have never been used.Jon Radder said:I feel they stand fair but the tape scratches easily and the close shots don't blow my dress up yet! What’s funny is the blue and gray cable ports are nothing more than an 8D nail ground down and I’m happy with them??
Looking great

They travel long distances with little time off and they get beat up quickly. Even end of line station car washers scuff up the sides. So I’d say your scuffed up cars bodies look just like the prototypes based on my numerous travels on the real things.
That is gonna make one handsome train.
David,
The Superliners look fantastic. I’m going back through the thread to stare at all the pics.
Dave
Gee David, they look real! NICE job.
Thanks Guys !
Can’t wait to finish the first three and run them behind the 40 this spring…the decals really make them come alive!! Might try something different for the roof on the next cars…that Sightseer Lounge haunts me.
All the time put into these is paying off. They look great. Dont worry about the scratches it makes them look more realistic.
David Russell said:Battery..........Is the Rooster stepping over to the Dark Side ;) I can't wait to see them run behind the "40" too. I'd also like to get a picture of the consist in front of Hollywood's station..............blue tarp and all :D Ralph

Sunday night dump and almost finished just need to get the B side cars decaled as there was an error on the first run. Made brake light tubes out of 1/8" aluminum

Added the generator(?) under the A side between the ladder and the trucks(LH side of car)

Got door handles and grab irons on (not real happy with the grab irons but can fix them later. The metal tape is not real drill bit friendly.

Transition Sleeper froward end is different than the rest as it transist’s to the rest of the consist.

Water level on the coach baggage car…This car is only produced in a Superliner I and I’m working on that style truck that’s why they are so dismal and not painted.

Had to add reflective white on the bottom end like the prototype. This is only made in 1/4" wide strips so I cut them down the center.
