Where can I get a ticket ?

What’s with the windows on the lead unit? Dunno that I’d board that train if I saw that pulling into the depot.

Seriously, great looking train, even if there are no siderods to be found.

K

Rooster, Ya got ta fix that :O Black paint on the back of the "glass" will give a subtle "mirror" effect  Of course, silver will give that polished mirror look................ Ralph

Yup, Awesome Job David. I agree with the others in that maybe you could paint the windshield Black.

Why fix what is done on purpose to match the prototype you model ?

I see your(his) point. I think maybe the “glass” used was too thin, making the color appear solid and lacking the “shine”. Or so it appears in the photos. I don’t remember it looking that way in person  Ralph

Thanks guys …I’m very happy with the five cars and debating whether I really want 2 more but I’m sure I will eventually make them once I’m finished with my current project.

Thanks Hollywood… The F 40’s have a bronze tint to the glass and can be seen depending on how it catches the light…When I built the model I couldn’t decide whether I wanted the tint or not so actually the glued in glass is clear and the tint is an insert behind it that can be removed though the side windows if I wish but I actually like the tint. What would know though, I think I only molested several thousand pictures of the prototype… This one is from my personal archive

This is one I just now grabbed at random off Hebners Amtrak site

Sorry Ralph…they call it bronze tint?

Looks more like rust to me…

WOW!!! here they are.

I got robbed on a couple pics that were deleted over time. I couldn’t sign in here for a couple years. Probably a good thing for you guys!

Just amazing work.

Are you sure it isnt an Anti-Reflective coating instead of a tint?

I work in glasses and that looks like a Bronze Anti-reflective coating to me.

You may be correct Jake …I’m not really sure and actually they are inserts I slip behind the windows on my model. The fixed glass is clear but I like the bronze look (10’ rule )

Back on topic!
