Stand to close to the track ....?

…and get kicked in the head

http://youtu.be/Dy8Yt-P614w

is what is says ROFLMAO

Well, you cant fix stupid, but you can kick it in the head from a moving train…

Yeah, it’s crap heads like that giving train crews fits. Those guys should get nailed by the RR cops. Or stand just a smidgen closer yet! (http://rhb-grischun.ca/phpBB3/images/smilies/14.gif)

Hans, no, not stand closer. That would bring out the investigators, and then the railroad crew would have to go pee into a cup, and sit for 12 hours, and then the media would twist the story all out of shape and then…

It puzzles me why folks would get that close. They would be upset if someone were to trespass on their property, so why do they think… Yea, they don’t think. Never mind.

David,

A bit of gene pool cleaning … yep, never mind.

The money shot…

While the video is hilarious, neither guy is very bright.
He could have easily caused the kid to fall under the train.
He could have also knocked himself off the train or hurt himself.
Dumb & dumber

Hans, in my line of work, I get to wade around in the shallow end of the gene pool a bit too much. So, ah…um…yea.

Do Stupid Stuff, And

Even Stupider stuff,

will happen to you!

The latest trend in taking pictures of yourself or “selfies” is to get yourself into some type of trouble and take a pic of it happening. Sporting events are a big one. Run on the field, get chased by security, take a selfie of them chasing you. Another popular one is to antagonize the police to the point where they beat you down and then take a pic of it.

We were flushing fire hydrants and a kid tried to ride his bike through it while taking a selfie. One hand on the handle bar, one hand on a phone plus 100psi water pressure at 1000 gallons per minute equals a broken arm, 40 stitches and a water logged phone. smh

Did he get the photo? That’s what I want to know!

And now some sleazy lawyer will convince the parents to file a law suit against you because you created a dangerous situation and failed to protect their son from getting injured. And the really sad part is, if it actually gets to court, the judge will probably agree.

I’m betting the video is faked.

Many years ago, 1984 -1990, I was a riverboat captain on paddlesteamer “Canberra” at Echuca on the Murray River, Australia.

Our big problem was usually drunken youth swimming out into the path of the boat and diving under water beneath the moving paddle wheels or trying to board the boat to “moon” the passengers, then dive back into the river.

Sometimes they would hang onto the rudder for a free ride, which made the rudder very hard to move as we had “chain & rod” steering.

One captain used to get a floor mop used to swab the decks, he would make sure it a wringing wet, and then use the swimmers head as a target to smack him in the ear while on the move. As the boat had a very low freeboard, about 2 foot above water.

Another captain on paddlesteamer “Emmylou” used to use the stem engine to advantage. He would go from slow ahead, then move it to slow astern, cauding the paddlewheels to reverse function. This also deterred swimmers.

I was astounded as I could see the possible problems with any injuries occurring from this action.

Contacting the authorities for help was the usual “mirror” answer - We will look into it, but nothing happened.

Eventually to stop people from being so annoying, I made some small timber blocks, towed along behind us, as the swimmers came out I would shout to them to watch out for my fishing lines behind the boat. I think the idea of a fish hook across the swimmers back deterred them. Funny thing is that there were no hooks attached to the timber blocks.

As with the above video, some people are just not capable of seeing the danger they put themself into, Others are just dumb, believing that “it wont happen to me”. Gone are the days when the local police would say" do you want a kick up the bum, or should I tell your mother". I usually feared the reaction from my mother.

Sorry to change the line of this post, the video could be fake, but I bet these problems do occur to railway personnel.

Sandbar & Mudcrab Railway

Dopey people do dopey things on the right-of-way all the time. Sometimes it is OK. Other times it goes wrong and some poor engineer is in for the huge headache of reports/investigations/possible reprimands, etc. Frequently, stoned or drunk people wobbling down the track, wearing iPod headsets turned up to 11don’t hear the horn and get turned to kitty food. Other Darwin Award winners will walk out onto a trestle and be unable to reach a walkout before the operator sees them and can stop the train. Company signs warning about possible injury or death don’t do much good to save idiots from themselves. And it’s always the railroads fault in the press! Geez Louise!

It’s not only idiot kids taking selfies. US Senators set up news conferences in the path of Amtrak!

In that image from the video, you can see a metal protuberance of some sort right up against the trainman’s ankle. The piece of metal most likely would have hit the idiot’s head had the guy not kicked him out of the way.

That claim is all over the internet but is not true. The still I posted and other frames shows that it is just a crease in his trousers that is in line with the side of the locomotive near the steps.
The guy seems to have his leg sticking several feet out from the side of the locomotive.
It s a simple matter to identify the type of locomotive then determine if there are any protrusions at the side of the steps rather than believe the world wide kiddyland.

The video has gone viral now with well over 15 million views.
He will make at least $1 per 1000 views, perhaps a lot more, depends on advertising etc.
So, he has made at least 15 grand for being a fool. There will be many more to follow in the world of daftness and self gratification until SPLAT!

Andrew

I’m sure the Splat won’t be long in coming! The money can go to bury him!
