Large Scale Central

Stand to close to the track ....?

Oh man! To top it all, it’s a dumb Canuck from Regina, Saskatchewan. Made it on CBC Radio, with a reference to the CBC Website where they placed a link to the video. Apparently shot in Peru.

Which reminds me; a couple at Miami Airport observes two people all decked out in “real winter gear”.

She: “Wonder where they’re from?”

He: “Should I go and ask?” YES

“Pardon me, I was just wondering where you folks are from?”

“Saskatoon, Saskatchewan” Hmmmmm…

She: “So??”

He: “I don’t know, they don’t speak English”

LOL! Good one, HJ!

Legally?
The event couldn’t have happened IF the boy had honored the safety line.
The kid provided the opportunity - he would lose.
I look forward to reading the details of any legal action against the RR.

Meanwhile…

I witnessed a wedding photographer place an engaged couple in wedding attire sitting on the edge of the platform with the photographer standing in the roadbed. Challenges of safety were of no effect until claims of heavy fines and big ticket penalties were shouted – they then got up before the Amtrak arrival. Yes, financial penalty won over safety.

This one could also go in the railroad stories, but

Some time ago I was talking with the RR constable at K. who pointed out that keeping at a safe distance was good practice, even on tracks that are not in use. This as I was observing two guys changing out a coupler on a BO car on the RIP track adjacent to the station.

The previous week he actually arrested some yokel who was of the opinion that CN is a crown corporation - nope, hasn’t been for many years - and since it’s owned by the people, the people are entitled.

Didn’t take the hint to leave the property - standing in between yard tracks with stuff moving - so he got arrested, a Can$ 232.-- fine and told if he shows up again, the next time will be much more expensive.

Always puzzles me how these guys can be that stupid, so ignorant and still lippy.

Hans, I see that all the time.
