ST Aubins

Well it looks like St Aubins is all done. I have been watching on their website just in case they were to extend the closing sale that I heard they had at York to online but I guess not. I clicked on several items that I was interested in and everything was out of stock. It would have been nice to get some deals much like Ridge Road offered when they shut. Maybe St Aubins was able to send things back to the manufacturers?
Anyways with their reported good and bad behaviour they will be misssed.
Todd

It was reported elsewhere that the store manager bought the inventory and will be opening as St. Aubins in a new location.
So, we’ll just have to wait and see if this is true
Ralph

That’s VERY interesting Ralph. And as you say we will wait and see.

I plan on call them tomorrow,I’ll let you know what I find out.

Chuck

You may not get an answer from “them” that will do you any good. Wait until the new owner surfaces!

There we comments made on another forum by “Knut” that I responded to, that I would like to share with you.

Matt “has not” made an offer to purchase the remaining stock, business name, website or the property to continue on with the St. Aubin tradition; nor has he found a suitable place to lease and start his own business. Matt loves this hobby, Matt and his wife Lynn have very close family ties to the Chicago area and do not want to uproot their family and move to a new location. I’m sure whatever Matt decides to do after his employment with St. Aubins it will be closely tied to this hobby. I think sometimes, some of us like to be the first to “spill to beans,” before an announcement has been made by that person or company. In this case, the comments made by “Knut” are not accurate. Please be mindful of your comments before the Sullivan family and all of their employees have had a chance to decide their next course in life.

  :P :P

Words fail me.

I’ll try to remember how I did that…

Somehow I dont think they would be burning stuff off at deep discounts off at York if there was a simple title tranfer in the works. Remember the “Fire Sale” at Nurmburg???

And I didn’t buy anything. :frowning:

Got a good deal on an EggLiner from them Friday. Now that I have two, I may run them on either end of the Hooker beer can tank that I also got at the show. (None of the three fit my main themes, but the EggLiners are cute, AND how often can one say that he got a Hooker at a train show? )

Looks like soon all that will be left is the guys that sell out of their homes instead of a Brick & Mortar.
Who’s left with an actual store/warehouse? RDL Hobbies?
I’m talking about a strictly “Large Scale” store, not a hobby shop.

Got the post card in mail today, everything must go including store fixtures and layouts, 30-90% off, will be out of town, not happy, will miss it.

Vic, they weren’t burning anything off at deep discounts in York. Even their “take 20% off our low sticker price” sale was still way higher than most of the vendors prices.

I agree.

G Scale Junction has a store & warehouse as I buy quite often from Jim.

Yes, I sometimes forget about Jim, but he is very gracious, helpful, and is competitive on pricing. I give him two thumbs up, and have dealt with him before. Give him a shout if yer a lookin for sumtin!! Regal

p.s. Jim if you read this get yer site up and runnin, it will only help yer business. As of today online coming soon!! STILL!! Hah LOL

The sight’s been down for almost a year.
That tells me there isn’t any incentive to go on line.
