Large Scale Central

Springfield ,Ma.show

Well it’s that time of year again next to york biggest on the east cost show and lots of G there

24 days to go, going one day for me and one day for grandson.

We may go up on the Saturday just to take a look around, the last one I went to there a few years ago I was a bit disappointed as everyone selling seemed to think they had gold in there hands.

Vincent all in how you hit it last year bought a new 3 dome tanker $8 person had a lot of G

used LGB mogul $100. also dealers you see like USA and RCS of New England. and yes there is still dealers that have the same stuff that they think is gold.

It’s been a number of years since I’ve made the trek up to Springfield. Might consider it this year. I don’t need anything but it can be fun just to look around if the crowds aren’t too thick.

I bought my bus ticket this past Summer. I ride with the guys from Nauset Model RR. who charter a bus. I got a email today that there are still a few seats left for those who live on Cape Cod, Buzzards Bay or Taunton since we make a pickup stop at each.
If I remember right this will be my 7th time there and it sure is a great show that features all scales of trains. In years past large scale has been spotty but there are deals to be had and of course the “gold” peddlers are there as well. Usually at least one booth has LGB gold. There is another that sells primarily Aristo so I wonder if his prices will be through the roof this year since they are out of business?
Charles Ro USAT has a large booth and some deals on new stuff.

If anyone is in the area and on the fence I would say go but go early since the crowds get CRAZY.

I will be there with the M&P G scale layout.

Let me know if you go. Maybe we can go together. I have that weekend off as of now although I might have to work a big concert at Liberty State Park one of those days but Im hoping I can avoid it.

Also let me lnow as well, I might tag along this year as most of our club members have decided to pass in favor of the last ECLSTS in as it was known in past.

OK - Sounds like a plan. Shawn lives off 84 so I’m on his way. How would you come over from Kingston, wouldn’t coming South to 84 be out of your way? I’m not far from Rt 55 out of Poughkeepsie.

Jon,

I’m planning on going up on Saturday. If you wanna ride up with me and a few club members, you’re more than welcome.

Our club has a show down in White Plains on that Sunday.

Got my tickets in mail today

I’ll be around on Saturday…

Now that my youngest is safely off to the UK for school (this AM.), We can consider attending - Saturday most likely- Please Larry- leave the speedo at home ( Or lend your extra to Sean )

Sounds like Saturday is the day to go. I’m leaning toward making the trip up - I need a train fix.

My plan is to be their Saturday. Jon if you want to hitch a ride with me let me know. Im picking a lathe and bench while their. Eric Shade is brining one for me so I plan on meeting him up their Saturday. We can talk as the time gets closer.

We decided on making the trip on Saturday also, maybe we will bump into some of you.

I never been to the show but we should pick a spot and time to meet.
