Let me know what you think can be hung here

I do have a clearing that I cut some time back. But the Pines are slowly taking it back. I mow up here too, so the Pines and Poplars don’t completely take it over. It’s pretty far from the house.

Found a few more things blooming around the GRR.

OK…I know it’s coming so I’ll say it first… A ROOSTER ???

This is the rotten post that let go of the track board and did in the tie strip and bent the rail.

This is what greeted me when I got to the outback (back 40). I am with out a knee right and need to use a walker all the time and can not put mor that 50% of my weight on the right leg. Had an infection in the metal joint and it was removed to fight the infection and when it is gone then they will put a new one back in. Soon I hope!

This is the other end. Need to get the rail sections off and then deal with the track board and/or replace the Post (w/ treated wood).

Holy Bandwidth Batman!

Holy 3456 x 2034 pix!

I don’t think it’s as warm today as they expected, but pretty nice.

Sorry, they cancelled global warming for lack of interest.

Well, it is tax season: A couple of revenoo agents would look real purty swinging in the breeze.* Toddled into the backyard today, turned the rainbarrels open end up and reconnected the downspouts to them. Still a couple of patches of ice on the surface, and the ground is still pretty sodden, so I shan’t be doing too much there. * Now to wait for a visit from the black helicopter squad.

Did a little testing today. Successfully turned a 10 wheeler around on the WYE. Also was able to turn a train on the WYE. Here is a crappy video backing onto the main. For some reason the resolution on You Tube is about half what the camera shoots. Here you can see the flats. When done, the flats will wrap around three sides.

I actually ran “the other way around” today. Here 1332 takes on water before picking up at Parrothead Yard.

nice work Ralph. Glad to see your a two way RR.

Well, at least ya had a sunny day. That’s more than we had…

Had a beautiful day. It just had a late start waiting for the clouds and fog to burn off.

A friend of my daughter asked if he could run the train. So I showed him the buttons and he ran it for a bit. He thanked me when he finished.
Said he’d never run a train before. He’s probably 20-21 years old…

Shot another short video with the digital camera as it was getting dark.

The trains run much smoother the direction I ran today. The grade is longer, but not as steep.
Ralph

Nice video Ralph, thanks for posting.

We had about 4 inches of rain overnight. High winds this morning.
So far the GRR has come through unscathed.
Ralph

Lucky you. Keep running, loooks good

I think the 12 tons of gravel in the GRR might have a little to do with it’s ability to survive heavy rains
Ralph

Nice Ralph. We are getting hit with that rain now. So far 2.5 inches of rain. Not a fun day at work.

Cold front came through here yesterday with the Porta Potti dump and I have to agree with Shawn, “Not a fun day at work”. Baseball season has started, so I’m in shorts, but the legs were cold. I don’t think we made 50 degrees and it was a cold wind. If it gets real bad, I wear warm up pants over shorts, but I still have the shorts on.

So called “Spring” is here, and I still have my long johns on. !!!

I'm going back to hibernate for another six months.

Ya can’t do that, you’ll miss the invasion…
