You know,
I think it would be good idea to have a “Stations” category where we could post pictures of Depots.
There are some cool stations posted here at LSC, but you have to dig through various categories to find them.
I’m sure there are many more pictures out there that might get posted if there was a category. I know I have some Depot pictures I haven’t posted. Sometimes I have only a picture or two…not enough to start a thread.

Good idea Ralph, but that would require the members to stay on-topic. Something that rarely happens around here !
There are some very good railroad photo sites that are set up with categories. NERail.Org is one I frequent http://photos.nerail.org/
EDIT: I guess I’m having another set-back with my Mad Cow disease. NE Rail is not organized the way I said. It does have a pretty good search engine though. Searching on Depot or Station gives fair results.

A few comments won’t hurt. It would still give us a place to go for ideas. Just like the prototype section, many more photos are available elsewhere.
But here, questions could be asked. Maybe a request for a full size picture via e-mail. Or a picture from another angle, history, etc.

Okay, summer is finally winning the battle over winter here in the Mile High city (we don’t actually have “spring” or “fall”, rather winter and summer battle it out for supremacy). I managed to get out, trim back the already overgrowing Turkish Veronica and sedums, and got trains running once again.

Here’s EBT #1 with the railroad’s business car “Orbisonia” making its inspection trip over the entire line.

Of course, new this year was a bow to visiting motive power (and the next generation of engineers). Suzi (right) and her 6-year-old cousin had fun running Suzi’s Playmobil train around the line. While cleaning, I made a list of all the stuff that needs to get finished between now and July 7th, when the railroad’s on tour for the national convention. It’s not a really long list, but there’s going to be a decided construction boom in terms of structures, and a BUNCH of new plants. Later, K
Kevin…your dug out!
Looks great and thanks for keeping this thread going! I really like how you have disguised certain objects as I remember the start of it in GR. This thread has given me some great ideas and hopefully inspired many others. A picture does say 1,000 words and thanks for sharing so far guys as we have a great crew of individuals here!
I personally hope to add pics of Dave Marconi’s consist on the CVRR before the official beginning of summer in June. Andy Clarkes Auto racks would be killer behind a consist of Cats and always welcome along with Jon’s high hood N&W, Chandlers box cars or Rics buggy and who ever else want’s to play with trains on the CVRR? Please keep the (almost end of) SPRING pics coming…steam, diesel, modern, nostalgic it makes no difference to me as we all showcase, play with, model and inspire.
Most important of all (IMO) is too share our hobby here on LSC.
Dave,
I’ll be there before summer starts. Putting the diaphrams on as we speak. Personally looking forward to the visit. I’ll be in touch this week.
Dave
Chicago Botanic opens Saturday!
No rain for almost 24 hours! So, it’s time to run a train. I did a bit of maintenance, and then brought out my loco to get some shots.

Took Big Red, an early Big Hauler, out for a spin. Big Red was having some power issues, so it was backed into the yard. Brought out the Annie and the track cleaner. Annie run the track smoothly. After several passes with the cleaning car, Big Red was able to run the circuit. Ralph

The KMRR now has limited passenger service thanks to their new purchase. The Bubby L engine I got for 39.99 at Ridge Rd. I know its not the best but for that price I had nothing to loose. So far it is not a bad loco. Better then my Big Hauler. The sound and smoke are much better as well. The biggest difference is this engine is lighter then the big hauler. The front trucks stay on the track as well. Eventually this engine will get a make over but not for a while. Here are some spring pictures

this shot has too much sunlight in itbut I put it on becasue of the flowers. They are bluets, they grow wild in the woods in my area and one of my faverite flowers.
Nice Shawn.
If you need to add some weight, the front of the boiler pops off and plenty of room in the boiler to add a few pounds.

Ralph Berg said:Thanks Ralph. I was wondering where I can add the weight. Eventually this loco will look more backwoods to fit in better to my RR.
