Some answers to common, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
Q: What does Silvergate have to offer?
A: Silvergate is offering LGB of America’s remaining inventory of LGB products, including some desirable items, like some starter sets. However, Silvergate is looking to the future with growing lines like BRAWA, Bridgewerks, EMEK, Just Plain Folk, Motorart and PIKO. Already, PIKO is offering an impressive G-scale track program, and there’s more to come.

Q: What happened to LGB?
A: Lehmann, the creator of LGB, was acquired by Märklin in a takeover financed by Kingsbridge Capital, Goldman Sachs and several international banks.

Q Can I still get information that was on the LGBoA website?
A: The online “LGB Product Library” was a great resource for LGB owners, but it is no longer accessible through our site. We hope to have it available on our site in the future, but we just do not know when or if that will happen (try http://products.lgb.de/produkt.nsf/psucheEC).

Q: When will LGB product be available?
A: Since Märklin took control of Lehmann almost a year ago, it has not resumed significant production of LGB products. We understand that some small quantities of LGB track and rolling stock are being produced in Hungary and China, but Märklin has not announced plans to produce ANY North American prototype products. Also, Märklin has not announced plans for North American distribution of LGB products.

Q: Is LGB of America dead?
A: No. LGBoA will continue, but primarily to protect its trademark and intellectual property rights. The LGBoA team has moved to Silvergate.

Was it Tim or Les or someone else who figured the whole move was just to protect their ass(ets)??

Cale was so excited he posted it twice!!!

Maybe it was so they didn’t have to support a manufacturer who they couldn’t reach an agreement with.

Where does “intellectual” enter into it?

Obviously not in the posting previous to this one . :):):):):):):)

Or is it possible that during the negotiations they were told in very clear language that they wouldn't be doing any business under the LGBoA name - remember the "oA" can not be protected - since the LGB name is now Märklin's property and since they weren't selling any LGB product other than leftovers???? ;) :)

Hey Marvin, it's so easy to tell when you're grasping at straws. :P

PS Now that “they” have a manufacturing branch the dumpster diving could be more lucrative, once “they” start to produce something, anything, there should be pickings. After all it’s not like a bakery where in the worst case you can eat your own scrap.  :open_mouth:

Who knows maybe they’ll start with something that’s not very hard to screw up like little trees!

I doubt that, it’s too much like real work. Besides our trees are sought after because we screw them up in a very unique and natural way.

But I’m looking forward to reading about the first Hillman rail clamps produced by Silvergate Mfg. Let’s hope they are not also NFG.

Whose going to get the last word in? I’ll bet you can’t stop posting before I do HJ!

“Gtrainman” is the signature author for the “Silvergate Message” – per the posting from gtrainman on MyLS.
With 17 postings, who might be this “master of the message?” He (he? she?) appears financially savy, if not historically connected, to the business operations of either or both Silvergate and/or LGB of America.

The last “corporate” message I remember reading was from Tony C. just prior to the cessation of LGB distribution.

Perhaps PIKO will fill the Marklin-in-the-USA void and be the delivery system for LGB-style Western locos and rolling stock via Silvergate.

ZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Interesting, just read “the Slivergate News” (is that one in their eyes?) on two other fora. Conclusion: The Ventilators and the Red Box Brigade are still in de-nile. Which is OK, there are plenty of crocs in there too.

Waited and waited…none of the brilliant ventilator caught it.

You DO know what the title of this post is, don’t you?

Good name, actually…just a “sliver” of their former self.

Good eye for a Bubblehead!

It's by choice, Marvin, by choice! The one forum I quit and got my money back (I claimed "non-performance" of "Idler"), the second one I wouldn't consider signing-up. Not in my wildest dreams nor if one day, for unfathomable reasons, I should find myself with a multiple personality problem (gotta mention something you can relate to, otherwise comprehension stalls). Like many other people on LSC, I can easily do without posting "over there", reading is good enough, the laughs are twice as good. :D :O

Let me get my boots- it’s getting pretty deep in here. Bet you have to post. Wouldn’t want anyone to get the last word in!
