Silvergate 'manufacturing' replacement spares for LGB?

Another site has information that an email has been sent out by Silvergate advising that spares are being manufacturered for LGB products. Anyone have proof of this, please? I am wondering as to the source of these parts and if they are existing inventory or are indeed newly manufacturered replacement spares.

Tim,

Why not just send an email to Silvergate and ask ?

Tim,

You mean you didn’t get an email either? You know what that means? They finally stopped using the old LGBoA database!

On the parts, perhaps they found:

a) some tooling (you know how hard it is to keep track of “things” when you have so much.)

b) some long lost containers (this one would be a result of the proverbial “slow boat to China” problem)

c) the list of the OEM suppliers (who have been supplying the market since “the troubles”)

HJ,

Perhaps Markin is having or had a fire sale.

Certainly Kenny!   Not exactly what my sources indicate, but then again, my sources aren’t connected to the Ventilators.

Little birdie? Again? Eh?

Maybe these folks did a bulk deal?

Let’s hope they’re not spending all their retirement money on this, eh!

Wendell,
the suspected eBay ‘clearing house’ for the old LGBoA/Sivergate, has been selling these items for sometime. I believed that the items were just new old stock inventory from the ‘glory days’. I do not believe them to be newly manufactured stock. Sort of makes a sham of the Walthers/Marklin contractual requirement dated January 1st, 2009. If they are newly manufactured stock, then they could not be advertised as LGB items, but as not original replacement items for LGB and branded as say, Massoth, if original supplier.

Tim,

Did you expect the “Old Clique” to play by the rules?

I had no idea that Silvergate was a cosigner on the Walthers/Märklin contractual agreement. Wonder if the new owners of Märklin will even agree to accept that contract? With some of the shenanigans making the news, the new owners may look sideways at any or all of the prior agreements.

“…Silvergate Manufacturing has started making new replacement parts for LGB…” I believe that reads “new replacement parts”, not “new LGB parts”. Subtle, isn’t it? Probably too subtle for some.

Jack,
my original posting was to verify a new source of replacement LGB parts and was not intended as ‘political’. If Silvergate has commenced manufacturing aftermarket replacement parts then fine. I would though sense caution when their eBay ‘shopfront’ advertises them as LGB parts, as this would infer genuine parts manufactured for Lehmann.

Jack, exactly where did I state that Silvergate was a cosigner of any Walthers/Marklin contract? You know that Silvergate was required to dispose of all LGB stock by Jan. 1st 2009, as required by Marklin. How does this infer that Silvergate were cosigners of a Walther's agreement?

Sorry, I didn't get that email from the "little Birdie". Who is/was that masked man with the inside information?

Jack,
same as I did not receive the email regarding newly manufactured replacement parts for LGB, hence my enquiry.

Tim,

I understand where you are coming from. I was just trying to point out that the Silvergate email went to many under their own name and was posted on most forums. Whereas the information that that a few here posted reference the Märklin/Silvergate agreement had no source and was not seen elsewhere.

Jack,
I checked the ‘unofficial’ eBay site for Silvergate(?) and new stock is stated as being similar to a particular LGB part number and thus is most likely from the OE supplier for LGB. Other stock is described, ‘as used’ on particular locomotives. Some stock does have LGB headers.

I was aware that an email had been sent, advising availability of spares, but no details of what was available.

I checked the Sivergate website and found no mention of manufacturing replacement parts for LGB. There was a lot of LGB for sale at markedly high prices, listed as ‘discontinued stock’. Maybe the site has not been updated for a while.

Which website?

Jack,
this must be an old website. The current site I could find no reference to newly manufactured replacement parts.
