Sad news: we lost another fellow train guy!

Ray Shoop: The_Other_Ray, Passed away @ the beginning of the new year.

I hate this type of news! Cancer got him.

Sean

My condolances to his family…

Wow very sad, Ray was a great guy. I talked with him not to long ago about how he was doing

and he never let on how bad it was. He came up to the our show last year and was a class act.

He will be missed greatly, one of the few I can say that about in the Hobby.

He was always willing to give good advice when asked, very knowledgeable with electronics DCC, DCS, Battery power ect.

Nick.

So sorry to hear that.
My condolences to his family & friends.
Ralph

Sorry to hear that. Sincere condolences to his family.

“The death of any man diminishes me.”

Oh, thats sad news indeed. I bought an SD45 and a couple of sound cards from him last summer. Nice guy.

He had posted and talked with me over the summer about wanting to come down and see my railway I am building, plus bring his inspection train along as I am also a P&W fan… really sucks.

Another sad day indeed. Our prayers go out to his family.

Chuck

I met Ray once at a club meeting and once at a local show and we emailed acouple of times. He was a nice gentleman offering suggestions, inspiration and enthusiasm. Reading posts like this make you realize, or remember how fragile this world is.

R.I.P. Ray and God bless your family.

Steve

Condolences to his family. What a great guy, both in personality and knowledge.

I’m sure he’s smiling down at us though!

Greg

I am glad I got to see him in November.

LAO

We will certainly miss him- such a gentleman…

Donna & Phil Anastasia

My condolences to Ray’s family.

My contact with Ray has only been recent when he advertised the MTH for sale; Great Trains as well and what a pleasure to speak to.

All aboard Ray, to the Starlight Express…

Bummer.
