Roving Rooster Railroad Award

This is where the NICK NAME as dubbed on LSC the ROOSTER came from via member Ralph Berg …he called me Dave Rooster Russell and it stuck> It was from a conversation about what do you do when you have rental property next door to you that parties all night …You call a buddy and mentor a Rooster for a while with the ability to adopt if needed.
Sure would like to talk with Ken right now !

Bump for post count !

Pre Boomer Green Foot it appears

Yes, but us old folks have Photoshop Elements, which does a great job of lightening the shadows. You can run but you can’t hide . .

I bet I would have missed it…no matter what!

I DID see the ROCK! :innocent:

OK I did some research, and in case the real “Roving Rooster” figure doesn’t show up, or does, here’s a few related businesses to consider for patronage.

First, the t-shirt.

Then, a high-end restaurant.

Finally, a mobile bar.

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Send it back out west or on way home from Hawaiiian vacation, would love to have the pecker stop by for a visit.
Years and years ago my daughters got a chicken for Easter, “Peck” graced out home for about a year before she was sent to Harland Sanders chicken relocation services

The Rooster needs to see the boy (Kidzilla) in Hawaii and inspect that submarine amongst other things!

Will you be taking Amtrak??? :innocent:

Probably, Mr. Russell will choose a submarine…un-tested of course…and stuff a dead chicken/rooster into his carry-on…for effect…

As long as the rooster doesn’t mind riding behind a steam engine!

Only if you hold my hand ?

:rooster:

Rooster

I forgot this even existed :open_mouth:

Bruce,

Love the buildings…
What are your foundations made from?

Thanks, Bill. You can still see them all on my old web site.

I used a lot of “Precision” products cast styrene over some clear acrylic or some other non-rotting material, but I also used stone and concrete as well as cedar…

Most of my stuff was built on clear acrylic so I never had to glaze windows… :innocent:

Wow Bruce,

I’ve really have to broaden my lexicon as too many of my replies start off with “wow”. but…. Wow!
.
I like how you mentioned your building techniques changed over time as you moved on from kits, to kitbashing, to scratch building. I really smiled when you mentioned using acrylic, because I have re-glazed 4 windows this month.

Ive just figured that out that I am becoming a kit basher. I find many kit parts just don’t fit well enough together, that I spend more time working on them getting them to my satisfaction, and by the end they have deviated significantly past the plans provided.

I’ve just ordered the electronic archive of Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette to attempt something similar to what you’ve done, upscaling HO plans from the Model Railroader to build it in G.

I wish my dad had started me out early like @Eric_Mueller has with his kids. I’m really behind the 8 ball to catch up.

In any event I found your website fascinating. Your eye for detail is amazing, and I am in awe that your bank was started in March and running in April! Bruce’s Bank

Thanks, Bill. That’s one reason I keep my web site around…
Of course :innocent: it’s all gone now…I’m afraid that age is creeping up on me…(plus both my wife & I have Parkinson’s). Anyway, the RR has been distributed out, so nothing remains in my yard - and I have such a lousy memory, that I have to check my spreadsheet to find out who got what.

If you haven’t already noted it, your stone mill now permanently resides here since BD never showed up to collect it

OK, so I have to ask: Who has the Roving Rooster now?
I thought he was on the way to Hawaii?

Folks;

No rooster, but will you accept a work triceratops? And yes, that is a working dwarf signal!

If not, perhaps a road slug?

Oh well, I tried!

Best, David Meashey
