Hey guys, Thanks.
Jon, as I was putting this together I realised how much I’ve done in the past 7 years…and how much I’ve learned…a very enjoyable trip indeed.
Robbie, thanks for posting the link

Brians work is awesome, but unlike him I missed out on getting some of Burls cars kits they were Awesome indeed. My hopes is that Burl comes back to the Hobby and sells his car kits again.
P.S.
If anyone has any of Burls kits they want to get rid of please PM me I will buy them.
You and everyone else wants Burl’s kits, but I think you’ll never find them… Anyone ever build the centerbeam flats that Burl made?
Burl’s alive, you just need to know how to contact him
Craig
Craig…and Nick,
I find it funny…“you and everyone else wants Burl’s kits”
Yet when he sold them he didn’t sell very many (I did talk to him)…and the only finished ones I’ve seen are mine and Burl’s.
Whoever else bought them either haven’t built them, or aren’t posting on any forum.

Brian,
I made the mistake of waiting because I wanted to buy the kits all at once, never thinking that Burl would have stopped making his stuff.
Just goes to show you that in this hobby if you see something you want and have the money, buy it now because it may not be around tomorrow.
Nick
P.S.
I heard one of the kits made its way to Martys for his give a ways. Also If you guys know Burl and he is willing to do a run of long and short high cubes I would buy a bunch of each.

Brian do you mare pics of the indoor layout, I’m curious to see more.
Vic, here’s a video Brian did, should give you a good ideal of what it use to look like.
I believe at one time it was O scale.
Nick
Nick,
“It may not be around tomorrow” is especially applicable to small one man industries. Life gets in the way all too often.
As in Burl’s case, he’s since gotten married and is busy raising his first little one. His hobby time has been much more limited.
As for one of Burl’s kits making it to Marty’s…you may be refering to one of my 40’ hycube boxcars. I sent a set of castings to Marty’s for one of his get togethers, I gave him the option of keeping it for himself or giving it away as a door prize…of course Marty being the generous person he is he didn’t keep it…funny story about that “kit” is I talked with Marty after that meet and he said the guy was excited and anxious to bring it assembled next year…that was a couple years ago and I’ve not seen nor heard of it since.

I talked to him to a while back and he told me the same thing. Hind sight is 20/20… I kept thinking that I could save up money to buy a couple of his kits. But I never did. Good thing, because I wouldn’t have been able to use them anyway because all the cars would be too new for my era. But I did learn some good casting methods from Burl when he was around that I plan to use in the future for my own builds!
I guess it’s like everything else, when it’s in production nobody wants any, but as soon as production is stopped, the market forces change and the demand increases.
I would like to buy some of Burl’s kits. I saw them on a different forum. They look great. Nice roster again, Brian. Love the modern stuff.
Brian, Super job with your modeling. Nice to see your collection of scratch built and kit built models. Fingers crossed, I hope Burl surfaces again.
