Dave,
Please post some photos of your Mason Bogies?
I would love to have either a 2-6-6 or a (Big Bogie) 2-8-6 on my roster.
But I have none of the talent you have.
If I could find someone to send an LGB Mogul to and have it converted into a 2-6-6, I prolly would do it!
Thanks,
jb
Hey Vic, No-one’s ever critised my models or anyone elses that I’ve seen in the forums - folks may often say ‘that style is not my cup of tea’, which is fine, thats what makes the hobby more interesting with the diversity, however we all appreciate the work of others, whether that be a well polished 1870s locos, or a rusty geared loco. The critism has only come as a result of my occasional efforts to help the odd model company…and I guess in this instance it does affect these guys because my efforts may mean they dont get what they want. With the Acc colour schemes, I made sure there were prototypical schemes from the 1870s, 1880s, as well as black versions to suite all. I dont regret it, the sample photos I saw two weeks ago of one of the prototypes was absolutely stunning and worth that extra effort. Here’s the Mason John:
Loads of photos of it here: http://www.mylargescale.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=39744 Also some of the finished models rolling out by the class members. I developed all the fancy decal work for the models shown, it was quite an effort. Each one was custom done, and printed by Stan http://www.mylargescale.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=24556 Barry is still working on the chassis orders, all these years later! David.
Dang…that is a N I C E loco!
Thank you, Fletch!
Absolutely fantastic work!
My closest Bogie is a 2-4-4 Forney. I guess it’ll do for now.

DavidAnyone who would criticise your models need to be thrashed with a 5 foot section of flextrack
Vic…That is about the best I have heard yet!
Yep, I’ll put my hands up to “not my cup of tea” but I will also admit to expressing a plaudit to a job well done, even if it not something I personly would have chosen.
Leaving aside the fine work that is done by any one who decides to build there own locos, what ever the subject, there is another aspect of the hobby. Away from the negativity of the malcontents there is an underlaying groundswell of folks who put them selves out time and again when called upon to assist those of us who get stuck from time time to time. I put myself in get stuck loads of times catagory.
People have helped out and that in itself is very encouraging. On balance the good guys far outnumber the nitpickers.
David set me on the path for my K-27, which although over long is still enjoyable and Tim with his Annie T-19 bash set me up for mine. To both I am grateful.
The Miseryguts and nitpickers are a bit blinkered, we are only here once, lets make the best of it is my belief. Might sound a bit like a “me too” post, but thats my 2 pennies.
cheers
