Ken

I would be delighted to attend the sessions, i have been wanting to try ops and this will be a great introduction. My G buddy Jay lives in West Grove so I will be staying with him. Thanks for hosting this for us all. (Hope to see you Ric)

Regards

Jerry

I was talking to my favorite Check out gal at Lowe’s the other day and she was telling me about another guy that’s into trains that comes in to Lowes all the time that lives in West Grove. Said his name was Jay Miller and lived on the corner of Evergreen and Woodland. Is this by any chance your G buddy?..(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Yes it is Ken.

So tell me, do you by chance live in a small town? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Ken,

finally broke down and reserved a room, so I guess my ugly mug will show up with some RGS equipment.

Oh sure! You plan to go to Ken’s, but won’t stop by at York. Hmmmmm You riding with Jon?

We discussed it, but no room in Marilyn’s Ki Rio with a dog crate, luggage and trains in the small back seat / hatch. We could caravan if timing works out.

Heading to Kens!

Kewl. There’s a horse farm right next door where you can store the horses…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Ahh Crap!, I really hate to do it (or not do it) but we are not going to make it down. There is just too much that still needs done with our move. Have some last things to finish/fix at the old house, and it looks like it’s the only good weekend to move the machines that are over 3500 lbs. Maybe we can make it up to Opps in August. Sorry guys.

Ack. Same for us - not making it. Jean broke her femur leaving church yesterday and is in surgery right now. I doubt that she will be able to get around by then.

We’ll miss all of you.

Wow! Give her our best for a speedy recovery. On the bright side, she will likely be up walking, tomorrow. That’s just the way its done, now.

Yuck Bruce, That’s horrible. Sounds painful, and certainly no fun having a hot cast put on heading into the warm weather. Give Jean our best.

Bruce,

Sorry to hear of Jean’s injury. Give her my best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Ditto.

Bummer (Randy) and double bummer (Jean & Bruce). You will all be missed. Give Jean our best and hopes for a quick mend.

Thanks…

They just brought Jean back to her room after putting a rod in her leg. Still a little woozy, but on the road to recovery.

Give Jean a big hug for us. Hope she feels better soon.

Stan and Deb

Oh, no! Give Jean our best from the Luczu(s).

Wouldn’t it have been easier for Jean just to say she didn’t want to go to Kens?
Hope she has a speedy recovery, glad you got your little trip in before this happened.

I think she likes to operate almost as much as I do; she’s always been a great engineer while I attempt to be a half-decent conductor. But there’s no way she’s getting around any layout while recovering. I’m glad we got to New Orleans when we did, but it’s been rather painful for her to walk for the last month or so. She needed a cane AND my support. It’s just too bad we didn’t realized what it all meant at the time…

BTW, for anyone thinking of a train trip, consider it a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We had to do it twice as we had a round trip ticket…but I doubt any more train rides are in our future. (Eh, and planes have been off the list for quite awhile)
