Record temperatures

Thanks Dave. Now what am I going to do with all those Carbon credits I got?
Easy, trade them in on a pony!

As for the bit before, someone with the time and that can touch type can go through list all the miss-representations and falsehoods that are in there!

Not least climate records do go back 420,000 years and well beyond that, but I thought that we were told that the sun would have eaten us through entropy in well under a million years if we had not been thrown off to die in the vacuum of space…

P.S. Yes father lots spelled wrong sorry.

Hey Geoff, does he take plastic?   Are those Martian bibles?

To hell with the pony…I’m hoping I can convince the Canadian Government, that I deserve a “Carbon Credit”, and invest the money on a goat…a GOAT gives milk, if it is of the female perswasion (Spelling ?) and eats almost anything…that means my lawn mowing days are over…as long as I don’t water or feed the bloody lawn, or pour weed killer on it. (Which I shouldn’t be doing in any case…)

…besides…the goat can pull a cart to the local food store, and also; more imoprtant; the local booze store, saving gasoline for the lawn tractor that I would normally use…more carbon tax credits, heck, I could be working towards a carbon nutral situation here, when I factor in the fact that I’m all electric, for heat, light and hot water…

Somehow It seems like I’m some sort of hero, in my own lifetime… Please, someone cheer…!!!

Now that global warming has been cleared up I have a few questions on the other topic that has come up in this post as to God or Time.

Could it be both? I know it said 6 days and on the 7th god to a break. Well were is it said that a day is 24 hours? Could it be that to God a day is like 700,000 years to us? Besides Adam and eve were not the first try. So, could god have done the big bang and all the rest just happend?

I have never understude why it had to be one way or the other. I belive its both and maybe even a UFO in there some were. Face it. We are not alone, just know way with how big space is.

I am not able to translate for you Geoff, but a friend and scholar and I discussed this once. He was able to understand the language of the written text and explained it this way:

There are three words used in the ancient texts that translated into King James English as “day”. One was a literal 24 hour period, another was “back in the days” and he explained that there is a third connotation, but I can not recall.

In Genesis, the word translated to “day” was the 24 hour usage. BUT, with all that said, I say; “So what?” My salvation and love of God does not depend on whether the universe was formed in 144 hours or 144,000 years.

It is just that there are no definitive evidence for a million or billion year age of the Earth, or at the least one must admit there is controversy and differing theories.

I find it interesting that the only groups of individuals that it is politically-correct to make fun of, joke about, insult are white, Western European, heterosexual, Christian males.

I need a hug, and a civil rights attorney.

I hope it did not sound like I was questioning yours or anyones beliefs in God or his/her love of God. If it did I am sorry for that.
Its just that the 24 hour day is not something I have found in the good book as being defind by God but more as by man.

Evolution is impossible. it would take billions of years for man to arise from mud…

I've been trying to take Scooby's path on this one. No matter which side of the argument you find yourself, you are likely to offend someone.

So I am going to simply relate an experience of mine.

About 5 years ago I found myself having difficulty breathing. After a month of running tests I was hospitalized and told the Mitral valve that seperates the two chambers in my heart was damaged.
My first clue that something unusual was going on occurred the night before my surgery. A woman doctor from the team that was doing the surgery came in to talk to me about the surgery.
She said: " Mr. Berg, for some reason your body has an amazing ability to adapt to the circumstances presented to it. We don’t understand or have an explaination for it."
On my 30 day check up after the surgery this comment was explained to me by my cardiologist. The pressure in my lungs prior to surgery was double the pressure in my heart.
The surgeons had never seen a Mitral blowout so severe in a living patient. My heart was 5 times its normal size, beating so fast it was beyond the range of their instruments.
The cardiologist went on to say that it was physicaly impossible for me to be alive…much less, walking and talking. Because the pressure in my lungs was double the pressure in my heart, it was physicaly impossible for my heart to pump blood into the lungs. The cardiologists exact words were " Angels were breathing for you".
I had no reason to doubt him then, or now.

It's time to pray for global warming, says Flint Journal columnist John Tomlinson by John Tomlinson | Flint Journal Columnist Monday January 19, 2009, 4:20 AM

If you’re wondering why North America is starting to resemble nuclear winter, then you missed the news.

At December’s U.N. Global Warming conference in Poznan, Poland, 650 of the world’s top climatologists stood up and said man-made global warming is a media generated myth without basis. Said climatologist Dr. David Gee, Chairman of the International Geological Congress, “For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming?”

I asked myself, why would such obviously smart guy say such a ridiculous thing? But it turns out he’s right.

The earth’s temperature peaked in 1998. It’s been falling ever since; it dropped dramatically in 2007 and got worse in 2008, when temperatures touched 1980 levels.

Meanwhile, the University of Illinois’ Arctic Climate Research Center released conclusive satellite photos showing that Arctic ice is back to 1979 levels. What’s more, measurements of Antarctic ice now show that its accumulation is up 5 percent since 1980.

In other words, during what was supposed to be massive global warming, the biggest chunks of ice on earth grew larger. Just as an aside, do you remember when the hole in the ozone layer was going to melt Antarctica? But don’t worry, we’re safe now, that was the nineties.

Dr. Kunihiko, Chancellor of Japan’s Institute of Science and Technology said this: “CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or the other … every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so.” Now why would a learned man say such a crazy thing?

This is where the looney left gets lost. Their mantra is atmospheric CO2 levels are escalating and this is unquestionably causing earth’s temperature rise. But ask yourself – if global temperatures are experiencing the biggest sustained drop in decades, while CO2 levels continue to rise – how can it be true?

Ironically, in spite of being shown false, we must now pray for it. Because a massive study, just released by the Russian Government, contains overwhelming evidence that earth is on the verge of another Ice Age.

Based on core samples from Russia’s Vostok Station in Antarctica, we now know earth’s atmosphere and temperature for the last 420,000 years. This evidence suggests that the 12,000 years of warmth we call the Holocene period is over.

Apparently, we’re headed into an ice age of about 100,000 years – give or take. As for CO2 levels, core samples show conclusively they follow the earth’s temperature rise, not lead it.

It turns out CO2 fluctuations follow the change in sea temperature. As water temperatures rise, oceans release additional dissolved CO2 – like opening a warm brewsky.

To think, early last year, liberals suggested we spend 45 trillion dollars and give up five million jobs to fix global warming. But there is good news: now that we don’t have to spend any of that money, we can give it all to the banks.

About 3.5 billion years, according to the last thing I read on this subject.

It is remarkable how many people who try to teach us about the bible haven't actually read it. I also asked that question. And then one day, while I was stuck in a boring little hotel in Sydney with nothing else to read, I found the answer on Page 1!!! So here goes -

In Genesis Ch.1, God created the world, etc. He went on to create animals and people and he made them male and female (plus hermaphrodites). Adam and Eve didn’t show up until Chapter 3. So there were other people around, presumably living outside of the Garden of Eden.

I took this to mean that Adam and Eve were the first of God’s “chosen people”. However, given the shenanigans of Adam, Eve, Cain, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc., one has to ask how wise was that choice.

Here endeth the lesson.

Not quite Kevin. Must have been a New Age Martian Bible. Read it again.

God did command Adam and Eve to go forth and multiply. Two sons would not be much of a multiplicand, so there is a high level of likelihood that the bellybuttonless couple had other children.
