Thanks, all! I am pretty happy with this little railtruck. Appropriately messy and worn and randomly assembled. Just like me come to think of it!
Just outstanding as always.
Just fyi, the latest BAGRS newsletter is out and has my railtruck as the featured build article. All the info and pictures were first posted here. Cool!
Hott dang. Well deserved recognition Jim
We now have a celebrity among us As Hollywood noted, well deserved. I hope all the readers enjoy the journey and appreciate the time and effort you put into the build.
Congratulations, Jim!
Wonderful, Jim! Next stop…GRNews!
I made a carrier for the railtruck. Here comes a short video and too many photos!
Carrier closed, foam holding the railtruck in place:
Opening the sides so the railtruck can exit/enter:
Railtruck coming off the carrier:
And going back on:
I’m getting ready to go to the BAGRS (club) annual meeting. They will have a model contest and I’m planning on entering the railtruck. So I needed a carrier so I don’t screw it up while moving it around. I’m also going to enter my tent cabin. These contests are just for fun, but why not. Oh and they have a photography contest. Might as well enter that one too while I’m at it.
Cheers!
Nice to see you have your ditch lites on while entering the carrier!!
Have fun and good luck!
Good luck. Its a beautiful model. And I love carrier. Looks like the ones Chuck Inslow made.
Absolutely a Chuck Inlow carrier, made using info he posted on LSC. This is my third such carrier. They work well for me.
Jim your rail truck is an inspiration to all, especially like the chain drive thanks for the share. I have long wanted to build one and now that I have acquired a REA 2-4-2 rogers which has 2 independent motor drives I think I will use one for the rail truck an 1 for a CP Huntington. Also like your use of the front 4 wheel carriage of which I also plan to use just think they look better and the truck I think I will use is a Playmobil delivery truck, slightly over sized, kind of like a deuce and a half but the front wheel wells have an open front (not curved down ) and would be easy to extend, thanks again for all the great ideas, Bill
Thanks, Bill! That looks like it will make a great railtruck! Go for it!
1:24-ish PLAYMOBIL scale! Looking forward to seeing this come together, Bill!
Well done, Jim. Great model!
Congratulations, Jim. Well deserved. And I agree with Bruce, it is a great model and just think, we all got to see it come to life right here on LSC.
That’s awesome Jim. Its a great model and deserves the recognition.
Such a fantastic model Jim, as I’ve seen for myself! Himalayan congrats on the article, Dude!!
