Large Scale Central

PVRR Coach

During the recent month long cold spell, this project has been on hold. Sun’s out today, so it’s time to make some decals. Of course, what other colors could the “Cardinal Line” use but red and black. Both are very strong colors. The trick was to come up with a scheme where one color didn’t over power the other. So here’s what I come up with. The celestory pillars are red rather than match the window pillars. I tried black, but it was “too much”. Ralph

That is very nice. How about some details, scratchbuilt?, kit?, own design?
Ron

Is that a still back there in the woods Ralph. Sorry  nice looking car. Think I’d want to distinguish the letterboard a little bit. Maybe a gold or yellow band or two.Chair rail and letterboard.

There you go giving me something else to think about. This is why I never get anything done :D There will be quite a bit of lettering on the letterboard. We'll see what I can do to spiff it up for you ;)

Ron,
Nothing fancy. Just a Bachmann repaint.
Ralph

Maybe some eyebrows on the ends, a dormer or two on each side. You do know Harriman roofs were in vogue that year. Curtains in the windows, and don’t forget the operating smoke jack.

Ralph, Color scheme looks beautiful on the coach… Nice looking coach body…

Now David..........you're getting a bit upiddy :D You are "The Goaded One"...............This means you're on the receiving end

Thanks Andy. Glad you like it.

Ralph that looks nice. I love the colors you chose for your RR.

Appreciate you pointing that out again  OK I’ll try to stop.

I like the color scheme. If you are using white letters on the letter board, that will brighten it up a bit for Dave.

Rooster, The security camera caught you at the crime scene. You’re “cooked” now  Ralph

I needed some light colored lettering to go with this paint scheme. I’ve not had good results with the white waterslide paper. So I decided the job required more equipment and talent than I had. So I had Stan Cedarleaf make the decals for me. The lettering is gold on white. So this is fresh out of the paint shop. I was braving 50mph winds today to shoot the clear coat. But I wanted to get it off the work table so I can work on something else. Ralph

Really sharp Ralph. You and those trimmed windows really adds to the scheme

That looks right nice, Ralph. Great job.

I do like the bright colors of the coach. They’re quite distinctive for a “private railroad”.

Thanks guys. Stan, the decals really made it pop. I managed to get a shot of the drum head before the snow started, I see I forgot to paint the doorknob. Ralph
