I’m waiting for the “Rooster Line” coach with

on the drum head For freight, maybe a Rooster bobblehead on the caboose
Ralph
A Rooster Bobblehead would be a great idea… Bobble da head, use it for target practice…
…and back to the topic at hand
That really turned out nice. Is that sprayed? Looks like a lot of masking involved.
Thanks Bruce.
It was sprayed…and the masking was a PIA. I hand painted the window sashes on a couple of the SVL
coaches. I think the hand painting was easier.
But I’m almost out of the paint I use, and have only been able to find it in the spray bomb. So the next two will
be sprayed also, if the weather ever warms up.

Seems this thread keeps getting derailed!

I really like the coach. The drum head is a nice finishing touch.
I guess I’m a little slow Four months later the “Brittany” comes out of the paint shop. Still need to install the grab irons and stove pipe. Both these cars were B&O cars that I bought on eBay right at $10 for the pair. Looking rough and missing a few parts. They polished up pretty nicely
Starting on the Combine today. Ralph

Nice looking set of coaches, Ralph…
Best $10 you ever spent. Looking great!
Ralp, how do you get your decals so nice and straight? Until I built that mlw car I hadn’t applied decals since I was a kid. And that was 45 years ago! Before I do the next batch I want to see if I can figure out what I’m doing!
Doug,
They are not always straight
I just use water with a little dish soap. And try to get it as close as possible on the first try. The more you move them, the more likely they will tear.
Although I make some of my own decals, Stan Cedarleaf made these for me.
I don’t know what type of waterslide paper Stan uses, but I like it better than the waterslide paper I’ve been buying.
Guys,
Thanks for the positive comments.
Ralph
I will just have to get my eyes straight!
