Postal issues?

I have just today received a package from Phoenix sound that was despatched EMS on May 5th. 3 days door to door from overseas is impressive in my book.

That’s great service service on both ends. To go coast-to-coast it usually takes 5 days which I’m satisfied with but your package must have come via Quantas!

Transport could have been provided by any one of the Airlines that have the right to fly between Australia and the USA. I don’t know for sure which airlines have those rights but they do include United and Qantas.
I might say this is not a one off situation. I buy regularly from Phoenix and the service is always promptly delivered.

Amazing, concidering a package mailed Parcel Post takes a week or more to go from Minnesota to California. Priority takes 3 days for the same distance. Not impressive when you consider US to Australia requires the same amount of time. :frowning:

US Postal Service is Amazing. I mailed an 8 lb box of track for $12.35 at noon on Thursday from Ogensberg NY (adjacent Canadian boarder). I just checked and it had left the Sacramento California sorting facility for delivery at 5:53 AM this morning (Saturday) less than 2 days after it was mailed.

My Story. Dealer shipped an item from Texas via FedEx. The package went up to the outskirts of Denver and then over to the outskirts of Portland Oregon, on up to Kent Washington and then handed off to USPS for the trip back down to Eugene Oregon. Naturally it happened over a holiday and a weekend for a grand sum of 11 days…Bring back the Pony Express, PLEASE…

I find USPS usually get stuff to me in the UK (or yUK as Tac calls it) in about 10 days.

Goods from Trainworld NYC via DHL…Three days door to door.

About 30 minutes ago, US Postal Service delivered (2) regular Priority Mail packages, today Sunday, vs a normal delivery day on Monday! They are going beyond the norm for Christmas and Holiday package delivery!

Great job!

I had my medicine delivered to a house a block away.

Hope Santa got some glasses for the mail man.

Boomer I suppose most of us have a story to tell but what the hey, here is another one. Sent a package by UPS to a fellow in Northern California. Ups could not find the address? They dropped the package at the local post office at that town and the fellow received it the next day !

Cheers for the New Year ya’ll TOF in Oregon

Well it has been hit and miss this year. We ordered some Omaha Steaks for ourselves, my mom and my sister. All three orders were placed within 24hrs. We received shipping notices for ours and my moms shipment last Friday and recieved the packages the next day. However my sisters shipping notice didnt come until the 24th she still hasn’t got them yet. This was with “guaranted” arrival before christmas. I just hope there still frozen on arrival.

I trust the USPS a bit more the FedEx. They do get my stuff where its going, even if its not the fastest way of doing things.

Several years ago I ordered a Pacific for Christmas. I discovered, on the FedEx site, that they didn’t deliver it before Christmas, because they couldn’t find my house. Now, come on! I know my street is only 2 blocks long, and I know it wasn’t on many maps at the time. But they had been here before. When my Pacific showed up, the day after Christmas, it had a printed map on it from mapquest. So I didn’t get my Christmas present from me to me, at Christmas, that year.

My latest experience is kind of comical. I procrastinated in shipping gifts to Colorado until my only option was Priority Mail. Left the package with pre-paid postage on my doorstep for the postman to pick up on Friday the 20th. Didn’t pay much attention until Tuesday the 24th when I called my son to see if the package arrived. Yes it did, on Monday the 22. Thank you USPS. Then I started getting tracking emails…

Seems that even though the package was successfully delivered on 12/22 the Post Office doesn’t know it. They are still scanning the package (don’t know how they can do that) as late as Midnight today! Seems thy have the delivery part figured out but have a long way to go on the tracking part.

Maybe I can claim it lost and get my $50 postage back?
