After I laid the boxcar on its side I got my 2ft level out. stopped all progress and killed any fun I was going to haveby watching a train in the garden. back to drawing board to figure out retaining walls to conform with grades. I use a 2 foot level and step block for grade, and a torpedo level for elevation. But then I am not a wiz bang sort of guy. I am olde school.

Why not? When he is done leveling the track, he can just dunk the phone in a bucket of water to wash it off.
