Wow…why can’t every forum be this easy?!

Yup, nice photos there…

Checking to see if i can do one of mine from frt. shed with F.F. (IE 10 doesn’t work nice for us.)

ok can’t drag photo form frt shead.??? not working?

ok, try again, copy and paste. Shows a link in but show photo in preview?. Did work on first time save changes button, but showing now??

Show photo in edit post box but not after you save change? Nothing shows when this save changes.??

Ok try difference idea. Copy image location. Not working either.

Not sure what is going on… now photo show on first post and not on the second post? yet it show backward post on edit post?? Very confusing… Not sure what way is right.

My frt. shad is very confusing on how to get a photo… I now have to find the photo ( that’s OK ), then click on it( icons by photo dose nothing? , then dbl. click on name of photo and it show small, then click on it again to make it show up larger to see what it is, then copy imiage and paste it on the Edit post box. that works, That works most of the time now.

Bob. Mc.C. Could you make sometime, make up a procedure on how to post a photo from frt.shed so all have the same way of post them… May also give some ideas of how our setting to have on our browser to match yours for F.F. and IE. STUFF. Must be a basic way of show photos. Just an idea.

Glad you think so Vincent. If you read back some of the other posts not everyone agrees with that. They tend to try and complicate it

Noel,

Don’t use the IMG tags.

Ralph

Hi Ralph. I just tried to drag and drop from Frt. Shed and didn’t work in FF.?

didn’t work…

Ok try again copy and paste from frt. shed.

That one didn’t work either…

Ralph, So what are you doing to get a photo in from frt.shed to post?

Only way i can see it might work is to make up two browser in FF and drag from one to the other. Sometimes work.

To bad freight shed doesn’t just drop a photo selected in auto to post and save changes.

Don’t know what you’re doing wrong, Noel.

Using the latest version of IE, I just click on the file in the Freight Shed and it pastes to my post.

Ok we switched over using IE10 and tried both ways of trying to drag or copy and paste… Not working?

Just don’t know enough to get my setting right on IE10 or FF. We get infranview program to set all photos up in jpg, gif, then upload them to frt. shed. but gets changes some where in setting?

Well about to give up with frt shed posting. It use to work before on old programs. I can up load my photos on MLS.com web we have that I was going to get rid of but well save them there and use brackets to show here… Frt. shed not working for our computers. Tks for the help Ralph… We done here and back to playing with trains…

What I noticed in all your pictures in your freight shed is a lack of a file format, ie; jpg, gif, bmp.

As opposed to this one that does have that file format on the end.

as opposed to this one:

No .jpg format on the end.

I’m guessing the forum software doesn’t know what to do with it other then make it a link to another site.

I’m no expert, but that what it looks like to me.

That would be it Ken. If it doesn’t have a file extension the forum software can’t tell it’s a picture and just leaves it as a link.

Noel - rename your pictures in the shed with .JPG extensions and it should work,

Why it works on MLS and other forums: They require the user to tell the software it’s s picture using the IMG tags.

My guess is Noel has his windows explorer set to “hide extensions for known file types” so he doesn’t realize they are missing. Click that setting OFF on your PC and then you can see what is going on before uploading. In XP it’s in Explorer under Tools/Folder Options/View. Not sure where in 7 or 8.

Good catch Ken.

Sometimes the answer is right in front of our nose…I’m glad you picked up on it.

Ralph

Well, I wasn’t really paying all that much attention to it since he seemed to think the problem was with the browser he was using until he posted the link to his freight shed. When I compared it to what was in mine I noticed his lack of format extensions. I copy and pasted a few of them and that seemed to me to be the problem.

It could also be his photo editing program causing that problem too. Mine will ask what format I want to save them in, usually a jpg or a gif, depending on what kind of pic it is. (Out of a long list of different formats) And sometimes it just automatically picks the right format.

I hope that solves the problem for him…

Tk’s Ken…

I had to go to Tools/ pri.tab/ Disable XSS filter in scripting that is changing or dbl’ ing. in IE10.

I went through all of Frt. Shed. and cleaned out the non-jpg or gif’s.

Went back and reformatted photo’s to a Jpg or Gif’s, then re-size photos and rename them.

Now I can copy photo out of frt. shed and paste in post box and save. But not drag or drop or Ctrl-V stuff. on these setting I have now.

Now have to get setting fixed in the win xp and vista computers.

Tks for the idea of checking of the format of photos… Guess that where it all started in the beginning of my problems.Noel & Jane

WIN VISTA SETTING . IE-8. and later on change Win XP setting in IE-7 Tk’s again Ken.

Glad to be of service, Noel.

Sometimes it’s hard to see the forest because all the trees.

So it was not windows 8 after all?

Not win 10 either I guess. Just upload to LSC with the right Img. to frt. shed that no one catched until Ken did.
