Large Scale Central

Pete's 2019 MIK Build

I have not figured out the name or what kind of Industry this will be , but I will be making a facade and an awning/overhang to cover the dock so things( whatever they might be) can be unloaded without getting wet, or in the case of the Phoenix Az area, not spontaniously combust into flames. My brother in law Mike was spending quality time on Craigs List and found a bundle of scale tin roofing shown and gave it to me for my birthday, that only cost me 62 years of wear and tear( no complaints when reading about my buddy Devon)

The building may be taller than what the long out of print and very rare, highly technical "blueprints"printed on Scott Towels finest industrial grade quicker picker upper paper. Please call me for pricing if anyone wants these highly sought after technical drawings. Now if I just had some doors windows and detail parts to make it come to life! lol

The plan is for it to go up near the top of the picture on the left side, against the wall. looks like the perfect place to put a facade building. Sadie is doing Lab work and is pointing out a potential problem.

work will begin on or about the 12th of January, permits have been submitted, construction purchase orders have been issued and one of Arizona’s finest politicians has donated a coroplast sign.

I knew I could pressure you into participating. You should be able to work on that while driving.

It looks like a good plan. I like facades.

What is the problem Sadie found? How about naming the building after her?

Shipping front for the brewery behind the wall (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)Might need a couple more spots for boxcars, though. I don’t think one will keep up with the demand and production (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Hmmm … Sadie’s brewery …

Sean, Thats not a bad Idea, This is Babs, The Best Dog Ever!. we had her for 13 years, a Lab/Collie mix and the namesake of my Babs River Railway, so Sadie’s Brewery may be a good name for the building. I will sleep on it and see what comes up, but it may be something else.

Todd she thought that that rock moved and was about to attack it!

You have to watch out for rocks that do that.

Sadies Brewery making Sadies Suds or Sadies Slobbery Suds?

Well the whining/crying/complaining will now begin, I am going to be out of town until the 17 or 18th, so my build will be off to a slow start.Bummer . Someone who shall be nameless but his name is really close to Devin Sinzley suggested that I can do the work while drivng, I did a test run todday and … well no I cannot. So I guess I need to think of it as giving everyone else a chance to get a headstart! LOL. I will hopefully be checking in on the progress as my trip unfolds. For some odd reason I cannot access LSC in certian parts of Texas, not sure why but hopefully I can see some of the work so I can steal get ideas.

Pete did you just volunteer to help build that wall ?

No volunteering, but I am taking a load of steel to Tx so maybe…

Pete, you mean to tell me that you cannot measure, rip, cut, glue, nail, rinse and repeat while driving??? I can understand the painting having to wait until you get back, but the construction, I just don’t see what is so hard about that (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif). Have a safe trip. Oh, and just to be fair, I PROMISE I won’t start until you get back (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I don’t get it either. I thought he was a professional truck driver. . .not some amateur. I mean use one leg for the gas and brake, use one knee to steer, and that frees up the hands to work on the model.

Perhaps it’s the closing of his eyes to imagineer …(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

Well, it frees one hand, the other hand has to shift the thing.

Well unless some kind of Santa’s elves or build fairy intervention happens I will undoubtedly have a DNF on this challenge, that nasty thing called work has really messed with my shop time and I am no where near anything that remotely looks like something that could possibly pass for a building. I am bummed , but I will hope for a day this weekend to do something so I can at least show what the intention was/is.

Remember, Pete, there are 24 hours in a day (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)A lot can get done in that amount of time. You can sleep after the challenge is over.

Pete,

I know I have prodded you but hey you got to pay the bills in order to play.

What about some sort of track side shanty or detail. A small piece. There are all sorts of track side buildings, signal electrical boxes, signals, crossing arms, a billboard. It doesnt need to be a grand building. You will need small details as well

I just need some time at home , and then some spare time from the everyday stuff that has been occupying the non sleeping time of the days off. I just cannot find spare time to get anything done. I am frustrated about that more than anything,. It looks like I have this weekend off, will see what I can get done

I understand Pete. Remember rule #1, this is for fun, if your stressing out about participating then you are breaking rule #1.
