Percy Face-ectomy

Hello Percy

Nevermind those men with hyperdermic needles Body removes with 4 screws easily accessable from under holding the cab down, and 4 holding down the boiler Percy after anesthesia

Percy after facial removal

this was very very easy, just press on the sides and it will pop off, Side view showing tabs that hold faceplate to body

New smokebox face

Sheet black styrene & a spare wheel, I actually traced the diameter directly from the boiler Smokebox in place

just simply ACC in place Painted

Percy on the autopsy slab

This was a seriously EASY project completed in literally ONE evening just waiting for the paint to dry then will add a gloss coat to match body gloss for now. Already cannot wait to get my paws on Thomas!

Oh, no Mr. Vic. What will the kiddies think? Where’s your warning label about actual violence? Not suitable for some viewers like Cale? The shame

Now on with the rest. Good move Vic what else are you going to do with it?

Looks good to me.

Thomas, next?

Personally, I’d use a chain-saw, and follow it up closely with a flame-thrower, but hey, that’s just me…

Victor,
Just don’t post this at GSC. Wouldn’t want to traumatize any 13 year old children
Truth be known, I think you want Mistress Lisa to spank your bottom
Ralph

oh boy…oh boy…spank bottom…really…what fun…ahhh, come on now; be serious…

Oh no a crime was commited. The Thomos Police are going to be knocking on your door.

My kids opened up their Thomas today and my 10 month old boy loved it. He kept pointing at the pictures on the box. I then put it on the track around the tree and he had the biggest 4 tooth smile. It was great. Too bad I cant run it outside getting freezing rain. Grrrr.

Nice conversion, I may have to get one of those.

Get one of each and make a Fairly. That way the kids could have a Percy going one way and a Thomas going the other.

That last pic would almost make a good Avitar Vic!

EDIT: Vic, not Mik…sorry guys!

FInished, added gloss paint and reassembled, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

VERY NICE!

Wow, you have just made a “very useful engine”.

That looks great

Nice finish Vic

The horror of it all.
If your not gonna do anything with that face I’m sure I could find a very resourceful use for it.
((rubbing hands together))

Vic, are you going to paint him, or just “tone him down” a bit?

I quite like the “red striped catapiller” paint scheme

We’ll see long term, as I get farther along I will decide whether to weather or not, if I do it will be toned down a bit with dust and dull coat, we’ll see. Im just tickled having an acceptable looking and very affordable English engine, finally.

True, actually, the green is not as bad as the blue on Thomas. I would think a bit of weathering may do some wonders.

Keep up the good work! So far I am lucky that neither release looks like anything that ran on mainland Europe. I have thought about the compartment coaches tho…

Maybe a bash into a “narowgaugeized” something like this?

Solving the Footplate issue, first step cut out the plastic with a Dremel tool:

You can see some of the clearance issues with the motor and I suspect the uslessly high clearane in the cab was to accomdate battery RC installs inside the shell.

Heres without the cab
