I am happy to report that Percy has successfully been surgically removed and a decent looking Avonside 0-4-0 ST was found inside:

Next up,…Oh Thomas!!!
That looks great. I love the way you detailed the cab using nails and screws. Thats a great idea I will have to remember that for when I detail my newer Rogers.
Nice job on the backhead, Victor. Fine job on the face removal too
Ralph
Great work Vic. Does this mean an extention is needed? Where’s Percy? Is he still in recovery? Where will he go from here? At his age will he be able to find another job?
I could imagine the floor was raised for DCC and/or sound, but battery placement is giving us a fit:)

With various figures

the figures are left to right, 1/22.5 in the cab, 1/24 on the side, and 1/20.3 on the front

Homer seems to have found a new ride.
C. Nelson said:As long as the cab stays stock I thought there was a ton of space for battery/rc install under it. What about inside the boiler area?

Victor Smith said:not a "ton" by any stretch....but a good deal of room....planning on placement will be the key, prob use multi cell, multi pack batteries...RC on and in rear bunker...see this thread for ideas of avail space:C. BTW:
Vic, the Locomotive formerly known as Percy looks great!–though it does need a name!
Cale I cant find anyone who makes Brit nameplates for engines like this, not even the GSC guys can help, so I’ll have to figure something else out. but for names I’m waffling between “John Keats” or “Bright Star” after the Keats poem. Thomas will be renamed “Tolkien”
Any other suggestions?
always been partial to “Cale”
Try Garden Railway Specialists in Princes Risborough , England . They make nameplates .
Mike
Surprising Vic, half those guys put nameplates on all their locos.
Here is another to add to Mike suggestion:
Sometime I hope to get some Jane/Janet/Mamod bits from him, his stuff looks really good.
Thanks guys, I asked but the only reply I got was a referal to an add in Garden Railways, but that was only for US builders plates.
Vic, I’ve bought several sets, pre-made, and custom made for 16mm from Steve at Back 2 Bay 6.
Always been very happy with how they’ve turned out.
