That’s the foolish part, an inch and a quarter north and it’s a different story.

Get a great idea and spring into action without thinking it through. I once tried to use the Ramset .22 powered nails on rock. The rock laughed when I fired at it and the bullet velocity nail ricocheted off zinging past my head. Fortunately it missed me, but I learned a lesson that day.
Dang John, those air guns are nasty. My finger tip caught one from my pin nailer when the pin hit a tight grain area. Fortunately only a 1/4" of pin broke through the wood. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

The Mik Internationals just ended and I won a bridge! It’s in the background. A simple design I’ve captured in 3 variations …
They go together so fast and the careful angle cuts are covered …Above is ready for stringers and ties.
Also strong, for a ‘primitive’ bridge.

Well there is some bend, but hidden… 7 degrees by eyeball.
Having the stringers centered over the side uprights stabilized them.
The stringers are ‘close enough’ because my engineer assures me; “the use of close set ties makes up for it.”
I’m going out to notch 3 ties for the joiners and then it’s glue the ties time …

Those look great John! Having 2 bridges near each other in the same general style but with different details really helps make the scene…

I used to do repetitious production work …
Presenting Variation 03, in the Korm Kaution stage; Where are the triangles??? Their boxcar was bad ordered with 4 hot boxes, invisible Aristo grease … soon.
First I have a bunch of angled cuts to make, don’t let that hand saw fool ya, it just notched a spot for a leg… all angles are done on the band saw around back of the house…
The flat top trusses provide strength in the middle … so the approaches can angle in…
The bit of stringer on the right gets whittled down to slide under at that spot.
For my birthday yesterday, my doctor’s office called to say my biopsy showed pre-cancerous growth … as soon as they can they are going to give me another endoscope and freeze it off … do I know how to live it up or what?
I did the only thing that makes sense, I’m building another bridge!
Sorry about the diagnosis John. That sucks. My best wishes for a painless and quick procedure.
But yeah, bridges are a bit therapeutic, and you are on a roll with these bridges. They make a nice collection. I also like (in the other 2, and presumably this one too) the close spaced ties. Really sets the bridge off from the regular track.
I’m liking the sound of pre-cancerous better than the Big C. Keep us posted and we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
Some of use if we didn’t have bad luck we wouldn’t have any luck @ all !
