Our friend Ralph Berg

Hey Ralph,

Glad to hear that you are home and feeling better. I know all about that “Cutting the Gut” thing. I have a 9" scar where they took out my gall bladder 20 years ago. 3 hours after surgery the nurse had me up and walking. I could have punched her. Just take it slow and you’ll be just like new in no time.

Chuck

Talk about wanting to punch a nurse. When they were getting ready to move me from the ER to Pre-OP, the nurse took a full IV bag off the hanger.
Tossed it about 4 feet and it landed right on my apendix :open_mouth:
Some people really are worthless
Ralph

I guess I was lucky. When I had my appendix out, my nurses were all young and HOT! Of course, they were Ensigns and JG’s and I was a Chief.

When I had my gall bladder out, it was same day surgery, so no nurses, except for Martha A Battleax in Recovery.

Then, when I had my shoulder done last fall, the nurses were again, HOT, but they were kids.

Sigh.

H__la note to get old isn’t Steve, Paul

Glad the op went well Ra;ph. Wish you a speedy recovery.

Glad they got it when they did, Ralph… Been there, done that…

Hope all heals quickly…

He’s well enough to complain. I think that means he’s on the mend

Get well Soon!!..

:) If you're talking about the nurse tossing the large IV bag and hitting me in the appendix, one would have to be dead to not complain ;) Again, thank you for all the well wishes. Some things are progressing well, others not as well. I guess there are times an impatient man has no choice but to be patient ;) Ralph

My great great aunt Agnes had this theory to the effect of "the more you gripe, the longer God lets you live"

She made it to 101

We were gone and I missed all the “excitement.” Glad you are getting better. Mine burst a few years ago. With this type so light you will be seeing more typos!

Excitement I could do without, Doug.

I really don’t notice any change in the type.

I’ve read a few comments about it being easier to read.

You and Victor seem to think otherwise.

Victor’s browsing on a phone. What size screen and resolution setting do you use, Doug?

Ralph

I’m currently on an 18-inch screen but I’m legally blind and the type is a challenge for these poor eyes.I have to make the type larger to read it and that makes the pictures too large! Consequently I spend my time making the screen larger and smaller!
I just noticed when I clicked on the location of your note that instead of taking me to your note it took me to the first page,

I have settings on my browser where I can enlarge the font sizes (which I’ve done, BTW) and it doesn’t interfere with the pictures.

YES I do think otherwise, even on my desktop, the type is a little too small, too thin and a bit of a strain to read for my eyes. I’ll survive but…

I really DO NOT understand this trend of late for some of the newer online sites/programs/formats/whatever to opt for default text sizes that need a flopping magnifying glass to read. You should see how small the text on my neices laptop is, the way things are going in a couple more years I fear I’m going to have to buy those stupid magnifying eyeglasses simply to read stuff anymore.

BTW Hope your feeling better Ralph

Ralph; You should be well healed and up and about in time for the East Coast LS Train show…and the cupcakes…!! We WILL see you there…

Thanks Fred.

While I have no doubt I will be healed up in time for ECLSTS, this may very well be the unplanned “disaster” that keeps me from attending.

I have to miss a lot of work. In fact, I may not be going back to work until just weeks before the show.

So, until time draws closer and I know more, I will hope for the best, but plan for the worst

Ralph

I was actually surprised how fast I recovered even though it burst. Just don’t overdo it when you start feeling better!

Vic, did you know that you can choose your font size? This is on the third page, so thread hijack is ok! :stuck_out_tongue:

When you say the third page…where do I find the first page?
