Well I get my head replumbed on the 15th. A VP shunt which runs from the center of my brain out the top down my head and spine and into my abdomen with a pop off valve.

Hey Buddy…I just caught this post about your upcoming surgery. Looks like you will be joining the “Brotherhood of the Shunt”. I was 68 when I had this surgery. You WILL do well, your young age will be a big help. Apparently your catheter location in your brain will be a little different than mine. Along with the shunt, you will get a nice new titanium disk (inch or so in diameter) covering the new hole in your skull. My surgeon used a programmable shunt on me made by Codman. Here is a link to my system:

About a 3-4 hour surgery and a couple of days in the hospital for recovery and then they send you home. You will feel 1000% better after this procedure!! I’ll be praying for a swift recovery for you. You’ll be back to railroading in no time…no excuses now.

Thats the crazy part Gary. I actually go home the next day and am back to work in two weeks. Mine will also be programmable. And the surgery is only supposed to take about an hour. I don’t even finish my first cup of coffee in an hour.

Tis amazing what can be dine these days. Here’s to success and healing.

Devon,

All my best wishes for your upcoming surgery. I will be thinking of you and waiting for the progress report from you the next day. Stay strong and fight! Semper Fi!

Good luck with the surgery. I really hope this cures your headaches. Certainly no fun to go through life that way.

Good luck with the surgery, Devon!

These days they really like to get you back on your feet as quickly as possible. Still, it’s pretty amazing that even a minor brain surgery can be done, and recovered from, so quickly.

Hope this works out, Dev, then you can finish your railroad.

BTW, I penciled you in to host in May 2018.

JK.

We here on the C.J.and M. are praying for you Devon . Hope your recovery is swift so you can get back to building rail roady things.

well, Devon, all the best!

Devon,

Thinking of you. Your in our prayers.

If they can add HEP cabling and ditch lights on the 15th I will gladly pay the extra costs!

I got your back bro …hope all goes well (which it will) !
