Large Scale Central

Origins of Large Scale scales.

Those little chassis are tempting. They just don’t have the right look with the outside frame. I will make something happen though. thanks for all the help guys.

Devon, I guess we are cross-purposes again, not helped by the fact that you so far haven’t told us what style of loco you are trying to build. Sure, those little outside frame units might not be to your taste, but they ARE little diesels, and most little diesels DO have outside frames. The units that I was talking about looks like this one from LGB, complete with rods and motor and ready to put your body on it…

…anyhow, I reckon that this thread has drifted into the area of modelling different scales/gauges or even building/modelling projects now, so how’s about it getting back on track, so to speak?

Tac,

I was purposefully trying not to derail my own thread. Here is the link to the modeling we are discussing. http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/23302/cheap-2-rail-o-motor-block?page=2. This link shows what I am trying to do. As with many of the great discussions on here they drift. I appreciate your help. But I agree for this thread it should be on the origins of scale and we can further discuss your suggestion on the other thread. I am soaking in what your saying and appreciate the help.
