Not Yet.. Mik's build challenge 2015

WOW only 48 hours to go!! I better clear a spot on my work bench. The only thing I have done so far to prepare is to grab a few extra napkins the last time I was at Dunkin Donuts!

It is 5 degrees here. No way I m working in the unheated shop other than to run what ever I need through a saw. I better drag the compressor in the house and fire up my shiny new pinner and see how it works.

Hey how long does the challenge run or is that part of the secret?

I am supplying a package of stripwood lumber for a prize… It is cedar. What dimensions do you guys prefer?.. I usually cut my stuff in 1/24 scale or close to that… The length will be 3 ft and shorter… Let me know … Travis

Are you Boomer or Dave going to be posting snow pictures?

You can keep the snow…

We got one of our 3 snows a year on Dec 26th. No Plow on the New Mexico Northern.

About 4 inches. And 12 Deg this morning.

We’re having a “heat wave.” It’s snowing lightly and 21 for us tonight!

HA I live near Syracuse, snow capitol of the US, and we got NOTHING, lol

Might set a record for least amount of snow this year

Rain yesterday, 39 here this AM, colder tonight! Bad winds overnight, neighborhood is a mess.

Look forward to seeing the dummies that sleep miserably on Colorado Blvd overnight to watch the Rose Parade tomorrow.

Come on you all can wait one more day!! Paul

I’m looking forward to the announcement of this years build theme.
The important aspects for me this year and in years past has been to…

Have fun.
Stretch my imagination and building skills to come up with something that will fit on my RR’s and that fits within this years theme.
To be amazed at what others dreamt up, constructed and see how it fits into their RR.
and of course
Have Fun.

These are good goals.

They make a shampoo to repel those things.

Hey it’s 2015 across the pond, lets start this up already…

So Dave are you going to post the information at 12:01 Irish time?

So,

It’s New Year’s Eve.

I’ve got a champagne cork, the wire twist holder for it, and the foil wrapping around the top.

I’m going to put those three things in the Mik’s kit box and see if they become useful.

The foil could carefully become spark guard sheet metal on a trestle. Cork carved into something or someone. Wire comes in handy for all kinds of things, even bailing!

What’s in your stash?

I like your thinking Don. Wait till morning…
