Couldn’t do all that when you were modeling downtown Miami…
Very nice job of capturing the Winter look. The barren trees look great.
Ralph
I’d say that’s better than just about anything I’ve seen done in LS in quite some time!
AAAAAW–GEEEEEE
THANKS, GUYS!
Do you have a track diagram of your old 1/29 Diesel layout?
Murray
He had this sketch posted on Freerails.com. of his Miami layout.

Looks great, somehow I missed this thread, should be able to garner (steal) some ideas for my indoor layout

Bob,
How did you switch Weers Gas with no “run around”?
Rick, this layout was closely based on the prototype which has no run-around inside the industrial park, its self.
The prototype pass track is along the main line (my switch lead, on the layout). Initally, I prestaged setouts for Weeks Gas behind the switcher.
Later, when the layout was expanded, I included the run-around along the main. Also, in that expansion was a return loop to the north, representing Hialeah yard.
To the south, the down town branch along the waterfront was added.
This area also had the lift bridge over the Miami River and south end staging for Tri-rail.

Ya don’t. ya just leave the room!
By the way, I sent a detailed scale drawing of the (Miami) layout in its expanded form to Model Railroader.
Hopefully, we’ll get to see their drawing of this in the GMR feature.
The 2012 issue is due out in about 2 months and “Miami” is in it; says so on the cover.

Good thing I have no feelings…
(sniffle)
Fall is almost here; it’s a bit easier to think of winter. It’s always winter in our Loganville, Tn. Here, NS 3232 is headed for CSX’s river St yard for early morning interchange work.
Wonderful picture & modeling, Bob
Bob that pic looks great. Was selective compression used for the stop sign?

Bob, Is that an SD45 High Hood? I’m kinda partial to them. If so, did the NS modify the controls to run them short hood forward? I modified my NW unit to run long hood forward with the engineer on the correct side facing forward.
What stop sign??? or am I blind again??
Its off in the distance just across the tracks and on the right side. Hard to spot it unless yer really lookin for it. Regal
