WINTER SCENERY—Not the most common approach but something we wanted to try. Here’s our start…

Not easy to get the feel of winter when it’s HOT in the layout room! (singing “Jingle Bells” seems to help)

NEXT STEP-- Add some melting snow. Road is"wet" from snow melt. Also note, snow has “melted” off the left (south) side of the gravel pile.
