I’m very glad that when I was looking at the Revo vs Battery a few years ago that the revo didn’t fit in the budget. I can modify an engine with a $5 esc and $8 RX, can’t beat that price, and i use my power tool batteries so there was no $ investment at all for battery. I know some think that after 4 engines battery cost more, but i’d like to kindly disagree.

I also modified my controller to operate 4 locos at the same time AND with unlimited linking to esc’s was by far the best solution of the time. On a 250’ mainline running more then 4 consists is difficult in that it looks unrealistic. I run 2 on the mainline and have 2 in the yards working which works for me. Having to thumb through a small screen to find a loco and control it doesn’t appeal to me at all, I love being able to control the 4 i’m running at the same time with the 4 controls on the RC controller. (Oh and i say 4 locos at a time but mu’ing with the TX on the same channel I actually run more then 4 engines at a time, so I should have said, run 4 lash ups at a time)

And apparently if I understand everyone I’m glad I don’t have to worry about a single company going under.

Hi Mark -

I’m sure a lot of people would be interested in your low-cost R/C solution. Why don’t you make a post in Power & Sound with the details of where you source the components, how they work together and what you use as a controller.

I know that I would certainly be interested!

Looks like i need to edit the pictures to re link them but the post was here

Mark, I hope that you do re link the photos, because without them, there is not much information. Thanks for trying.

When I went to Mark’s link, I clicked on one of the photo links and got the 'Whoa your off track thingie" I then clicked my back button to go back to the thread and they where all showing.

Thanks for fixing the links.

Being electronically impaired, I have to ask the question… "What does “ESC” mean?

esc = electronic speed controller

Thanks, I figgered it was something simple like that.
