New TE

Does anyone know how to link the new TE.
Fred (not Ph Phred) just recieved a new 2007 TE that included a transmitter that doesn’t have the right instruction sheet for the unit that was included in the box.
On the bottom of the transmitter included the three buttons read:
On/Off All stop FRQ
(The instruction sheet shows:
Speed DIR Frq)
We can’t link it up following the instructions provided.
I posted this on the ARISTO#$%^$# forum, with no results so far.
Thanxs,
TOG

I think there is a go-by for the new system on the Aristo site, JB. I’ll swing by and take a look.

Wolf,
Been there. done that.
His TE has different function buttons along the bottom.
His read (from L to R)
On/Off All Stop FRQ

We can’t seem to link it. Tried all afternoon.
Nothing goes right and we follow the directions step by step.

John, the one I just installed in my battery car is a brand new 2007 TE. It linked just fine.

The one Steve posted is for the on-board system. I’m assuming Fred is using the trackside TE. Follow the instructions in the back ignoring the indications on the bottom of the handheld. Mine linked just fine. Set the channel on the handheld you want (should give you a blinking green light), turn on the receiver and press the code button. A green light should flash. Press “C” twice and you are set to go. Then place your loco on the track and play.

Warren,
Me and Fred gave up. I’ll bring it home with me, and let you take a look at it.

Hay Steve unless you want to drive to Boise, you won’t find John at his house. He’s down visiting Fred.

Come on John, don’t give up so easy. I can just imagine the words that are flying down there with that Aristo TE unit. Both of these guys are staunch LGB collectors.

Have fun on your visit John and say “HI” to Fred & Janice for all of us INGRS members.

Ummm, Chuck, I was gonna swing by the Aristo site and take a look. Been to Boise once, that was enough.

We ain’t in Boise.
We’s near Homedale. (Nampa)

Oh yes, I’ve retreived the TE from the back forty twice, where Fred launched it.

I wondered what that bright light in the sky was coming from southern Idaho. Now we know, it was a new Aristo Craft TE rocket module.

How far up did it reach? The inner atmosphere or outer space! hehehehe

Hey John, I hope you took your camera. I would like to see Fred’s layout, It’s been a few years since Chris & I were down to visit (no more soccer trips).

Do not listen to this guy JB. I am the soul of calmness. But I am getting tired pushing my trains around the track. This is my third Train Engineer and I never had any trouble linking them.

But think of all the exercise you're getting :D I have two TEs The first TX is the one with "speed" and "direction" buttons that make the LEDs play chain tag. Cute but fairly useless. The newer TX has the on/off and stop everything buttons. This second set came without an instruction leaflet, but I followed the directions that came with the older set. It did somehow de-link itself once while in storage, but hasn't done that again (touch wood). I find the automatic "battery-saving" off after so many minutes in the new TX to be a PITA: invariably when I need to do a quick stop, the darn TX has gone to sleep, and I have to switch it on again. Casey Jones, meet your maker.

Hi Fred,

Welcome to LSC, sometimes aka Lunatics Societal Convention.
When JB talks of launching TEs, or any other equipment that defies perfectly reasonable orders, we “know” that he had too long a dehydrating drive through too much sun … and the rest … well it gave him the rest.  But he’ll be OK, did the TE land in one piece or have aliens abducted some of it?? Parts missing?? … it won’t link!!

Hey, Possum!! Welcome aboard. Yer in the right place. These people are as crazy as can be. Just hang out here during the full moon. If John can bring that thing back with him I’ll take a look at it and see what I can do. Hopefully it hasn’t been launched one too many times…:frowning:

Pos, aren’t you about due for a trip home. I think it’s been several years now.

Gawd.
I never had one of my TX’s go to sleep.
Never had to wake it up, either.

Strange.

Of course, I don’t have tag-team LED’s either.
