I actually CAN blame you for some issues with the new software. It has a “post quality” algorithm that rejects all your nonsense all-smiley posts and the like and tosses them out.

Couldn’t stop laughing on this posting BD. Did you special order this feature or was it just a hidden bonus deal?(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

It was unexpected. As I was testing importing the forums, it kept throwing up an error, “Body seems unclear, is it a complete sentence?” I had to dig to figure out exactly what was going on. There is a minimum length of a post, the majority of a post can’t be punctuation, and it has to ‘look’ like a full sentence.

So a post with five smileys in it fails.

Well now, there ya go. Ya let the cat out of the bag. Hidden bonus should have stayed hidden, it would have been more interesting that way. I can just see the frustration building.

Heh, probably. There’s a lot of anti-spam code in just about every new forum software, so I wouldn’t put it past him to trigger it somehow in the first week and end up in some kind of self-induced timeout.

Thank you, I love being blamed on a “Large Scale (G) Train Forum” that you have so graciously kept going over the years for hobbyists like myself !

(https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)…(noting the 5 smiles as stated)

Some more progress last night. Avatars import correctly, and sticky and closed imported threads mark themselves correctly.

Getting close. A few things around suspended users that I need to figure out, and then write the wrapper for the chat engine.

Thanks, Bob.

Very much appreciated. Do you have an estimated time frame yet?

Egads; IF you KEEP reminding him, he’ll shut down the site SOON! (Though I do share your sentiment about him keeping the site going through all of the previous upgrades - THANKS, Bbo!)

Drop-dead date is around the end of first week of November, that’s when I would have to pay (a lot) for the next year’s hosting for the current software. I really want to do it by the week of the 24th, so I have some breathing room before the old software goes away for good.

Well…NEVER drop-dead…it’s bad forum etiquette (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Hope it goes well for YOU.

Great to see this progress! Bob: let us know if we can help somehow.

Meanwhile, a reminder that I created a utility to help you download your LSC topics, just in case Bob hits a snag or something apocalyptic happens. You can read about it in a topic here on LSC [link].

I was unable to build a utility to download the freight sheds, sorry. Technical reasons that I shan’t go into for fear that I will bore you to tears.

After Bob has transitioned to the new software, I’ll be disabling my helper utility as it is very specific to this current version of the site.

Utility’s are all the rage these days !

So does that make it HTTP or HTTPS as we (LSC) have finally recovered between the two,2,too…I’ll cover for Pap (Noel) Wilson’s posts. Don’t matter either way to me but I greatly appreciate the time you put into LSC !!!
