I just got around to looking at this thread… great build! Really interesting stuff. Nifty prototype, too.
Working on the other side…And steps! . .

The inside paneling is done… . .

. . The entire body is now complete and ready for paint…Just wish I could settle on a color! . .

Beautiful job! Keep up the great work!

wonderful looking caboose… Nice job…
That prototype is hideous, I love it. Great work on the model as well. My only complaint is that you aren’t building it for me!
very nice work, thanks for sharing

Finally picked a color!!! . .

. . It’s going to be a while before I make further progress as the paint has to dry for at least a week before I dare mask off the body to paint the platform or glue on the roof. Still need to make windows and possibly a simple interior. Here it is next to my Bachmann…I like the stair unit better than the Bachmann unit. . .

. . The caboose pictured on the wall is likely my next progect, a Drovers for the S.R.R.L. That one will be a complete scratch build as the frame of the Bachmann flat is a bit high for the low-slung Drover. Here is a shot of the “roof beams” under the end of the caboose… . .

Nice!
You read my mind on color. I was going to suggest an antique yellow, I think you nailed it
Today we buttoned things up…Installed windows and a roof. Now we need railings, grab irons, and a roof-walk. Add a little bit of paint and the L&I has a home for their brakemen and conductors! . .

. . Looks right at home with the company rolling stock… . .

Hey Mark,
What manufacturer did the cupola come from that you used on your caboose? It looks perfect for a project I have in mind.

. . I picked up a second “greenie” on ebay a while back…cheap. I used it for the logging caboose. I see they are on ‘the bay’ now for $139.00. Almost cheap enough to pick up another for the trucks and misc parts alone!
