Large Scale Central

New Old Guy Frrom NM

I have been building depot models [G scale, mostly 1:20.3] as a result of a long freindship with Dave Taylor.

Here is the depot model of Farmington’s DRG 1905 Depot as an example.

Dave has talked me into participating in the 2016 Challange starjng today, wish me luck!

Wow great looking model Larry, Welcome.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Nice looking work Larry. Don’t you have water problems with that roof style ?

Welcome aboard and have fun in the challenge

Nice Work!

Welcome Larry!

Love the pot bellied stove in the front on the center flue !

Those are just really big skylights!

Looks great, can we get some interior pix?

Regards, Greg

Welcome aboard. You should fit right in. There’s a few old guys here…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

welcome larry.

that depot looks really good. only the roof seems a bit leaky to me

Welcome aboard! Nice work on that depot.

With the little bit of rain we had this year we wouldn’t have had any problem with that roof.

This is a great place! Welcome aboard!

Hello Modelers!!

I will furnish more Fmtn Depo photos in a day or so. I am sending here with a photo of the sketch of the Ware house for the NMN RR with the tin and the beginings of the post foundation. Thank you for the welcome words… Larry

Welcome aboard, is this going to be a Build Challenge entry? For the Mik’s Challenge you will have to starts a specific thread in the Annual Challenge Forum along with some sort of a drawing, it makes it easier to keep track of the entries. then we can all follow along your progress.

Vic, Patience my son. Yes, the Oil Shed is for the challenge. I am working with Larry on his posting, as it is a big techno challenge for him. We will try to get a post in the Challenge section tonight. Larry has built several structures for use in museums, and is very talented at model building, but his computer skills are weak, and I’m working with him on getting photos into the computer, up to Photobucket, and onto here in the right size. Hang with us.

BTW: Larry was my Beta tester for the Car kits for the build challenges.

Oh, a ringer huh? Does that mean the rest of us should just quit now, while we are behind, before we get behinder?

If I wasn’t in it for the fun, I might feel that way. I know there are already several better modelers than me entered, but like I showed you last year; any old fool can win!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

Besides it’s a fun way to take one off the forever list.

John

Ahhhh Guys, Guys, Guys… Trust me… Larry can’t compete for prizes because he’s been in on the challenge before the first of Jan… One of the hazards of knowing me.

Wow Larry,

Such an impressive depot. And more so with it being Farmington, an often forgotten stop on the D&RGW.

Just need the old REA truck that was always parked in front.

John, I feel the same way. I am having fun, and getting things off of my “someday” list. I build running models, and stuff that should survive outside in my climate, so my builds will never be museum quality.

So you are saying Larry is old then?

Edit: cause Ken probably hurt Larry’s feeling’s !

Larry’s Not Old… But he was a Marine Lt. in the Korean Conflict.
