The northern expansion to date. Got the bench work about 70% done. Still need to add shelving below but the upper deck measurements were accurate and things all line up. Its a mess right now but there is an organization to the clutter. This weekend will be lower shelving and adding the lift bridge at the workbench. In the end I’m going to have to unload quite a bit of now unusable stuff.
That stuff looks similar to what I was dealing with when finishing the shed. All my stuff was in boxes, but I had to move it dozens of times to clear work areas.
Great progress!
Big progress today. Track is down. The lift bridge which was by far the most difficult thing to assemble, is in place. I still have to add some wiring but today was a big day. Next up is building the platform above for the pizza. I had forgotten how heavy it was. I don’t know how I ever managed setting it up by myself.

LOL I bought that years ago, it’s a genuine long leather jacket made for someplace like Wyoming. Its never been cold enough to wear, I really to take it to Salvation army.
Progress on the layout. All benchwork is finished have been playing around placing structure on the layout. Tomorrow I will be laying down some Gargrave track on.the storage levels and will being addressing covering the exposed woodwork under the pizza. Once I have that planned out I can connect the last wiring.

Very big day, this evening I connected the last remaining power supply wires, started last weekend on the foam scenery, all the buildings are in place. I’m now fully operational. Some paint, and theres always scenery to do. But all major work is done. No pics right now, hope to post some end of this weekend.

I hate this weather, its been two weeks of temps between 90 to 95 with occasional triple digits, but worse is the humidity, 50 to 60+% which is sweltering for us. We’re use to dry heat summers. This high combination makes doing anything outside just miserable. Very slow progress accordingly, but the layout is 95% finished. The last percent being removable scenery modules that I have cut to size but haven’t finished off. The scenery will evolve as materials become available. I have to finish putting down a road surface in the new town section. No biggie just time consuming. I’m expecting some stuff from Ebay this week for background details. If it cools down enough tonight I get some pictures in but this hot weather stinks 
We just went through a period of temps in the very high 90’s and humidity in the mid 70’s with smoke added in from the Canadian wildfires. It was impossible to do anything outside. It happens here occasionally but not for the extended period we had and certainly not with the smoke and soot.
What I don’t understand is why the weeds outside thrived in those conditions. They must be Keith Richard weeds.

Yep, the weather this summer really sucks. I have never been so uncomfortable as I was in Iowa a week ago. The humidity was so high the entire outside of the camper, not just the windows, was wet with condensation.
When we got home last evening I could smell the wildfire smoke inside the house 
It will eventually cool off, I hope!!

Nope that was just me and if the kitchen floor feels sticky it was the boy.
OK time for an update, all basic work on the layout is finished. Remaining is adding to the scenery, which never ends, and weathering which is something that will continue as time allows. Its very hard to post pictures in sequence so I tried to take pics as I walked around the layout so bear with me. I will be posting pics in batches as I have 45 pics by my count. Pics to come as I sort them out
