Another really cool shortcut: Want to quote just a portion of a post? Go to the post, drag-mouse highlight the text to quote. “Quote” will appear. Click it and a new message opens with the quote inserted and referenced.

Now that is cool, add some more letters

Here’s a new one:

You’ve replied to @Devon_Sinsley 6 times, did you know you could invite him out to lunch instead?

I’ve heard Level 10 is the Lobstergram…

lol Any time, Cliff.

I got a interesting message when I went to post a few days ago on an old thread that got brought back up ( super detailing one). It said something along the lines you makes up 80% of the replies on this thread, let others participate. I should have a screenshot it.

Yeah, Craig. Stop hogging the limelight. :astonished:

I thought it was something like this:

I’m waiting for the forum to learn what “Devoning” is and then pop a post up after it’s been “Devoning”…

It’s still reading the 7 active threads Devin has going at the same time to be able to compile a Devoning frame of reference

I just edited my post topic … I do not remember being able to do that after say a couple of hrs not days after. I created it in Nov. and it’s Jan and it let me edit !
:ok_hand:

Yep. I noticed that one early on when it let me fix subject errors in old threads I was repairing.

Yea, I relaxed the time limit for editing a post so people could repair old topics. I’ll eventually turn that limit back on.

Well, please don’t be too quick. I still have a few hundred posts to fix

Another interesting suggestion from the software:

" Consider replying to several posts at once

Rather than several replies to a topic in a row, please consider a single reply that includes quotes from previous posts or @name references.

You can edit your previous reply to add a quote by highlighting text and selecting the quote reply button that appears.

It’s easier for everyone to read topics that have fewer in-depth replies versus lots of small, individual replies."

Not sure I agree with the last statement. In my experience folk never read all the text and only respond to part of it. I prefer multiple short responses.

I agree. The way threads have run in the past works just fine for me.

And I think editing a previous reply to add new thoughts screws up the continuity.

I agree, and I will be turning off the ability to edit older posts in a little while. I’ve kept it on to let people fix older posts.

Edit: I’m also tightening up the filters on garbage posting, quoting a message and adding no content, etc. I’ve been hand-removing them but the system can prevent them on its own to a certain extent.

Sounds good Bob. I still haven’t finished fixing old posts. Probably halfway through what I plan on fixing. Took a break for The Mik!
