Well the guys on the KMRR are excited to get there new Class A Climax today. The Big John delivered it to the Hainsville Yard on a flatcar Ihope I supplied enough pictures for you guys. Overall Im happy with the project especially for my first scratch built engine. I wanted the engine to sit a little lower to the tracks but the trucks are at the lowest they go, Ill have to live with that. Once I find the side rods I want for the trucks I will replace the current ones.
Shawn, Great work. Really like the details. What two flat cars, were you swapping this for ?
Nice bunch of pics by the way but I missed the one of the underside. And I don’t believe I saw any on the battery power equipment.
That, Sir, is one very fine-looking locomotive. You have made a great job there and should be mighty proud.

COOL!
Mongo LIKE!!!
Thanks guys. Sorry Hollywood I forgot the underside shot. Here it is. I made the gears for the underside and the brown cover holds all the wire connections. Im hopping I can put the battery pack in here. No battery power yet I just ordered the batteries today. Not sure if I am going to instal them into the Big John or the Climax. My next project is to make three log cars from scratch with link and pin couplers that will go with the climax.
Since they’re just there for looks… try scratching them from styrene ‘bar’.

Or talk to the guy on fleabay with the NoS Delton parts and get 4 archbar sideframes off him as a starting place.
Thank you Shawn
You’ve really done a fine job
Excellent
Fits the overall scheme of things beautifully

Thanks for all the compliments.
Paul dont let the pictures fool you with the weather. It was about 23 degrees with wind today. We normaly have snow on the ground by now but this year so far has been almost snowless.
Looks great Shawn. Nice job!

PS & OT - the two scumbags who shot up the Cape Meares Lighthouse in January will finally appear in court today at 1.30 Pacific time - the location is Tillamook county courthouse, Tillamook, OR. Take eggs in case it all goes bad for us. These two oxygen thieves destroyed America’s very first Fresnel-lensed lighthouse after shooting the almighty sh&te out of it in a drunken midnight spree. The 19-bullet-hole damage to the external glass has been mostly repaired by public donation and a gift - around $50K - but the main mirror replacement/repairs are hitting around a Million dollars and rising with the euro. These mirrors were made in Paris, France, in 1888, shipped around Cape Horn to Cape Meares OR, and put in place in 1889.

Tac I will try to get a video for you in the next few days.
Again thanks for the compliments guys. I just started to make my log cars for the climax. Im making the same ones as the Bachmann cars except Im making them out of real wood and they are going to sit a little lower… I think it will look much better with the Climax. Nothing beats the look of real wood.
