She’s a beauty!!!
Bruce,
I thought I’d await a good reason for making my first post on LSC and I think I’ve found it. I’m quite impressed with your coach build. It is fantastic and deserves all the great comments you have gotten and will certainly get. Looking forward to seeing it at the ECLSTS.
Don
(I’m not using my ‘Doc’ handle since there’s already one here)
Don (Doc), glad to see you here. Thanks.
And thanks to all! It really is a nice model to assemble; very well engineered!
I’ll have it over in the alcove at the ECLSTS on Saturday.
I will also bring it to the drag and brag on Friday night.
Boomer,
The issue with the paint was the Krylon Burgundy. I had done my earlier car with it and did not have any problems. Air temp could have been a problem, though I always paint in my basement, using a spray booth.
Painting the tape wasn’t a problem, though I did use a primer first. No other prep, though it might have been a good idea as that foil is slick.
Boomer,
When I used alum. tape on my private car, I buffed each piece of foil tape with fine steel wool before applying to roof. I then sprayed roof with 2 coats of Krylon flat black and finished with 2 coats of Krylon “clear” acrylic. No problems were experienced.

I’m kind of late to the “It’s Done” party. There’s just so much modeling going on here this winter I can’t keep up. Excellent job as always Bruce. I look forward to seeing it in person.

I am going to have a hard time NOT calling you Doc, Don.

Yes…what Jon said( I didn’t see the final pics till now)
I have a few sitting figures - most ordered from Richard over at ScaleHumans. http://www.scalehumans.com/orderform?catalogue BTW, it MIGHT be nice to have them sorted by standing, then seating.
I painted them up, but not with very much detail. No eyes, just wash.
They’re going to be inside the coach so I decided to minimize the work.
All but the one on the left are from Richard.

I think that once you look at them inside the coach that the detail isn’t really visible.

They look great.
Where’s the conductor?..
He’s in there…but you really can’t see him in the pictures.
Here’s a shot of the coach with the parlor car behind.

I’m very pleased with how the diaphragms turned out, though I made the one for the parlor car just a bit wider. I’ll know better next time.

Sweet! Those cars turned out great, and the figures really bring it to life.
