I know I’m not very well liked around here…

I’ve never had a problem with you. And I’d venture to guess that the majority of members here don’t have a problem with you either…

Jon Radder asked about the archives. Any chance he might be able to access his material again?

Thanks for all your work Shad. I hope your interest in the hobby will increase now that it will become leisure instead of work! I’ll look forward to hearing from you here and on mls in the future.

I did a quick search on the company Vertical Scope. They have a monoply on Automotive Forums and are in the business of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) therefore the forums are just fronts for ads so they can drive traffic to their SEO customers so it appears they are getting results from search engines. It is a stunt to spoof the SEO services they offer. There has been discussion of the company regularly charging PayPal fees twice over for forum memberships. Some claim to have no reply when inquiring about overcharges among other problems.

They won’t be getting any of my money. They already have the reputation they earned it seems.

well i wish the owners of MLS the best, the site has always loaded very slowly for me.

I rarely visit the site because the cross-posting of the same materials/builds drives me crazy.

Bob, keep up the good work here!

Andrew did you see the date over 2 years ago if all was true, should something be done by now?

Richard

I did a search and found various issues with the company and forum members.
Search Engine Optimization companies are not the best owners of community forums.

Andrew

I started on MLS at the very start but after having it out with a brand new moderator, I sort of went on the sidelines. I met many good friends and of course the Queen Mary was our gathering place for many years. Also joined up here long ago and Bob has been a one man show and that has worked very well. Oh ya ! Started with LSOL and that was fine till we got dumped. LSOL started up again but alas its finally going bye bye too. Guess us that have been around here on LSC should be happy to welcome those others coming over now. I do. Cheers to all.

Welcome Shad.
I always found you easy to get along with. I thank you for always helping me promote something new from RCS.

At least you got paid for your business name.

Mine just got stolen.

i foresee an increase in members here in this forum.

You can say that again Korm

Welcome Shad!

I did some digging before bed last night (too late to get back on here) and found some none too flattering stuff on Vertical Scope. I will get on later this evening and put up some links to share. If they are even close to the truth I see MLS going the way of a couple of other sites. (Similar allegations to the UK site).

Bob C.

I joined this site many years ago to get away from the cronyism on the other sites. Now with the closure of the manufacturer site at the end of this year and the selling off of the ‘other site’, those that I chose to get away from will now be heading over here. The migration has already started!!!

Let us hope they settle in with little trouble because I have no where else to go other than giving up on forums all together. Increased membership is good for Bob, but not too sure it is for the good of many here.

Shad,

I’ve never had a problem with you. Welcome.

I didn’t frequent MLS much, because there are more modelers here that help with my aspect of the hobby.

(Narrow gauge, scratching, weathering, etc.)

I myself welcome new members, especially all the live steamers. Regards, Ron

There were quite a few posts on here about not getting “the other site” or it being slow loading etc. etc.

Hmmmm didn’t concern me at all, I’m happy enough on LSC.

Welcome Shad. Dont let anyone bad mouth you for the MLS thing. You had to set priorities and that is your business. Some one once said, “The easiest way to ruin a hobby is to try and make a profit by it.”

Just enjoy running the trains around and contribute wherever you can.

OK, as promised, here are a couple of the sites I found.

Well Bob that does make for some interesting reading.

Interesting.
