I do see the newly name MLS Webmaster is telling everyone to ignore the man behind the curtain.
All Is Well.
Don’t Panic.
You know, the usual to get folks in line who haven’t read up on VS practices for themselves.

And, not adding to the warning post…

Shad is now justifying the 4 trackers on MLS that are there now, however there were a total of 41 trackers on each MLS page yesterday but in usual practice they were not mentioned and never will be.

As I said 10 pages ago, Beware of skinny stick people with MLS badges. Mth badges just as bad.

Nicky luv you fellas lone time…

I wonder why I wasn’t told to shut up ? Health concerns most likely

Easy for me to say, but … if you’re so terrified of what might happen, just stop posting over there. Sit back and relax, read whatever for however long you need to and then decide. It really isn’t rocket science.

BTW a tip for those who have a hard time with that; next time you go on holidays leave your smart phone, your tablet/laptop and all that other “must have” technology at home. But be careful! You could get a life!

SD cards are getting cheaper, as are flash drives. I prefer flash drives, because I can find them easier.

However, A good computer friend says that these are not good for real long term memory. They do “decay” over time. My experience and age tell me that my flash drives will outlast me.

HJ,
reminds me of my daughters when teenagers, they would complain that their mobile phones woke them up in the early morning. My suggestion was to turn the phone off before sleep. Oh, no, we could not do that some one might want to ring us.

Somehow I think that members migrating from that other site may feel a sense of loss or perhaps missing out on something. Why is beyond me, but then people are people and as VS will find out soon very, very predictable, regardless of talk of impending doom.

The scuttlebutt in the video community opines that SD will outlast anything that has been in use so far e.g. CD, DVD etc.

Not to mention tape of any kind.

I use flash drives the same way I used floppies, very handy to set up a sneaker network.

I don’t doubt it, warm and fuzzy feeling. Hiss, crackle, pop and rumble.

PS for Rooster. Sheesh a few posts back I thought you had lost your Idea, but I see that all is well.

Note the ads

David,
perhaps you should change your handle to the ‘blind reindeer’, the no-eye-deer?

Naah…however if had no legs would you call it “still” no eyed deer or if had no …corner Rooster

David,
good suggestion, your new handle should be the ‘legless blind reindeer’, still no-eye-deer. I am pleased that unlike your teaparty buddies you still posses a sense of humour.

My teaparty buddies?

I have many ideas…but few have any value…I just keep them to make me feel good…

Perusing some of VS’s other forums, it’s much the same; words in posts turned into hyperlinks for products (Who knew “house” would link to Charmin?), and on a few of them, periodic posts within the thread that just insert a banner ad into the body of the thread as opposed to the top and/or bottom.

I did find it quite humorous that the rat-lover’s forum was covered with ads for D-Con.

Time will tell if folks tolerate it or not. The mass exodus at the beginning is expected. MLS’s legacy will come once the dust settles. These features are jumping out at us now because they’re new. A year from now, who knows? Like any other changes at any forums we frequent, we complain at first, but then we get used to things, and very soon forget about the “old.”

I’m in much the same boat as Vic; I’ve got too many photos hosted there to just cut and run. I’ve been migrating my build logs to my personal blog for a few years now, and most of my posts relative to those projects there, here, and elsewhere have been little more than pointers to the blog. Beyond that, I don’t start many threads at all.

Still, I’m tempted to pick benign words within my posts and link to random YouTube videos.

Later,

Bullshit…you’re just trying to defend your moderator status over there on the Shad stabbed me in the back MLS site.

This is your one warning. Take this to private messages/email. TOC, don’t add to it.

Back at you Bob as you could have warned me via private message/ email but you didn’t. Guess I’m supposed to be made a example of? Your wrong about this being the ONLY website owned by a train enthusiast as there’s a few more that I know of.

My rules, and how I enforce them, are well known. Enjoy the other sites.

Awesome! A 16 page thread discussing another Train Forum on this Train Forum…admit it, we’re all a little bored?

Hmmmm … it’s either that or some need to get a life. Now back to video editing.
