Large Scale Central

My latest conversion is a Solarium car

In my ongoing conversions of AristoCraft streamliners I have attempted to create this Seaboard Air Lines car. The ‘Hollywood Beach’. These cars were created and used on the East Coast roads to fit through the low clearance tunnels where to popular dome cars couldn’t fit. Although a few of the East Coast roads did get specially made lower dome cars Seaboard went this route.

I will update my Article for the full build but here are the pics of the work.

I started with this coach

Did a bit of cutting:

A few alterations:

Some drill work with filing:

Roof had to be sheeted:

Almost forgot the end needed windows:

Interior work on this one with all that glass:

Interior walls:

Some furniture :

Undercarriage details:

A little color:

Some glazing:

Finished:

Where is the HEP cabling ?

Well!

So that’s why you didn’t send me the $1000 to do a build with your name on it!

Beautiful work and an education too. Occasionally I see other pics of cars you have modified and I’m able to say I know what they are.

Thanks

Wait …you are doing builds for $1,000 with your name on it ?

That looks terrific right down to the interior details.

Great build!

Your modeling techniques are very amazing. Thanks for sharing

Dennis

WOW!, were the top windows curved at the ends? Were they hard to do?

Again, WOW!
