Fantastic. Can’t wait to see it up close and personal.
Jon Radder said:You need to look a PP sheets and find a roof that you want for the store? I don't have enough slate left over to cover it(which would look cool) or the Terra Cota tile might look good as well. I'm thinking slate as your running Alco's with PA road names and not southwesten stuff? Either way your store needs a roofing material of your choice. Do you have the shelves built yet? Cigar Store cannot open without a display? Talk to Greg Elm. and see what he recommends for stock! Oh and you owe me about $14.00 for freakin' balsa wood door's that open! ;)

I pay in Beer
What is the roof sub base made from? Richard Smith has a neat technique using texture paint too simulate a tar and stone look. I bought some, but haven’t tried it.
Any interior that I build will be photographic illusions !
Beautiful prototype and model! Very well done!
Thank you gentlemen for listening to my ramblings and all your positive comments and thought’s on this build as it turned out far better than I expected. I’m quite proud of it and ready to tackle the next project!
“what ever that may be”?
Dave
Your Avatar reminds me of how far you have come in a very short time. I remember that shelter as being your first structure. It was a simple prototype that allowed you to develop some of the techniques that you later perfected and added to with Lemo Tower. Each new structure shows expansion of the kerfed frame and panel technique and additional skills learned.
I almost forgot the bridges. Different technique, but awesome builds themselves.
It’s been a lot of fun watching these structures develop. I look forward to the next time.
Jon Radder said:I know Jon it's crazy! I had no clue I was capable of doing some of the things I have. I was blessed with gifted hands not a gifted mind but I'm thankful everyday for what I have! This hobby is so educational and relaxing, I cannot help that I'm a bit A.D.D as that's what it's called these days. Now go read about your Cigar Store! ;)

YEah there are so many different disciplines rolled into this hobby we call railroading…
David, that turned out perfect. Excellent work.
Jon.
Would like to say thank you Dave Marconi for the front fence you made for this model! It looks great and was quite a surprise. I can’t wait to find the homes final position on the layout so I can paint and install the fence.
David, the house really looks good. There is a former bed and breakfast here in Cleveland that I am drawing up to build a scale model. It has hip roofs + gable roofs + a widow’s walk. And if that is not enough, it has a 8 foot porch (I think, I have not measured it yet) on two sides and a open carport. I have the exterior walls measured, drawn up and the windows located. If it ever quits raining, I can go back and measure up the windows.

More than welcome on the fence. It was a no trouble addition to an excellant model. Don’t even feel it meets up with your build

David, I have numerous pictures of different angles trying to figure out the roof line with its many angles and roof styles. Because the house is a two story, I will need to take some more pictures from the rear of the house to help. Send me your email and I will send you some pictures to show you what I am up against. Really nice work David!
btw- you can get nice doorknobs at Ozark - http://www.ozarkminiatures.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=184

I think I’m bringing this to York (on my own table that I’m bringing myself)!

Hell Rooster, You could at least show us a picture of what you’re bringing Ralph
I think I need to fix this thread …a lot of fallen flags and good times
