Large Scale Central

My first Mik's Challenge

Cliffy, I’m going to use 1/4" Pink Foam, reinforced on the inside with wood posts.

Chris

Got my stones, I ordered extra as part of my budget. Going to make an adjustment to my design, and change from using pink foam to plywood so I can use glue that would normally eat the foam.

Now paitently waiting for build day.

Chris

First night and I’m already holding the 36DDs in my hand! Man this is going to be great!

Have to build up my doors tonight so they have time to dry, building construction begins about noon Saturday.

Chris

Man you really have it made! If I had a pair of 36DDs to play with and could lick my own stones, I’d never want to leave the house!

Ah huh. I second that.

Ooooooh …36DD’s (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

So here is where I am so far, started the assembly Saturday. Lower floor is stoned and door in installed and Magic Sculpt used to make stone trim around it. I changed the way the door sat in the corner a bit in order to eliminate the post. Lower windows are cut and will be installed soon.

Chris

Great looking structure, Chris. The 36DD’s turned out quite nice. I bet you had fun handling those things(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif). Your stone masons did a good job as well.

That will be a grade a fine piece of building

I agree with Devon, and it’s a good thing you posted some pictures because the Where’s-Your-Progress? police were about to show up at your door.

Nice looking Chris…

Now that is one good looking design. I like how much it resembles your original napkin doodle. Keep up the good work.

Looking awesome Chris! Really looking like a pro job.

I didn’t know you could apply magic sculpt directly to plywood and have it stick ok. That’s great. How were you planning to seal everything? A urethane product, or…?

Today’s update, trim for signboard is on, upper stones are in and top cap is on. Windows are framed up on lower story and windows are ready to go in once it is painted. I will put the signboards on last. Need to do a little magic sculpt work to the back for what little you will see it.

Enjoy,

Chris

It just gets better each time I see it. Great job Chris.

Beautiful.

Chris, your turning out to be the out of nowhere dark horse. This is an awesome build.

Could you show a close up of your cornice detail. I am a sucker for detail

What’s that show you’re watching???

Looks like the Belafonte Hour … cause that beauty is in a time warp!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

I had lost sight of this build somehow. Man, that has really come a long way. You have outdone yourself with that cornice work. This is one great structure.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
