Inspired lately by all the boxcab interest, I thought it might be fun to scratch one out in 1:20.3. Totally whimsical, having no prototype. Just something that would be cobbled up in the back shops of some short line. Start with a suitable donor.
Get rid of all the unnecessary parts. Keeping the chassis and blocks.
Trim the chassis to width and length.
Construct the deck joists
That’s all I got done today on it. More to come.

Hey, I didn’t think you were going to cut it all up when we traded. That’s ok, I started disassembling the mogul too, but didn’t get as far as you did. Hahaha.

Seriously, great idea! Those trucks should make for one really neat boxcab. Can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Looking good so far. You planning to hard wire the trucks from the motor up? It’s pretty easy to do.
One of my Dizzies has a pretty significant surging problem, even on level track. I need to open it up and see what’s up. These are normally very smooth running trucks once you get the power connection issues fixed.
