I think, also, we should give the guy props for perseverance (if it all weren’t so ridiculous); this is the third auction for the same box. He doesn’t get discouraged, either: he tried and sold a tender box (no tender, just the box) for $25.99:

He doesn’t have a lot of sales but when he does, it’s a doosey, like a $700 streamliner, and this $80 Stainz that he sold for $199.99:
And guess what? NO BOX!

I have dealt with that eBay seller many, many times (Chris Ford). I believe that he is a LGB dealer in Florida. Chris has helped me on numerous occasions with hard to find items at reasonable prices.
My last Amtrak Genesis phase IV in new condition from Chris (including box) cost me all of $215.00, brand new (still in the box, never removed and purchased as a spare). That was a couple of years ago. Since then I have purchased numerous parts and some rolling stock from him.
He was selling these boxes some years ago for $29.99. He is the only seller I know of who strips new Amtrak Genesis locomotives for parts.
His current prices reflect the market. A phase IV Genesis now for $649.99. I have nothing but praise for his service and friendliness, although would not pay $60 for a box (although no doubt someone may).

Have a look on You-Tube and see what a load of crock that show really is. Most of the store is set aside to sell show memorabilia like coffee mugs and T-shirts. Part of the store is still setup to do the ‘onshow’ hustling. Reality TV is not REALITY (it is a TV entertainment for some).
