Misery loves company

I heard rooster feathers work well for cleaning. I know were you can find some.

I hope you are able to resolve this problem, but I also want to see a boiler shell and cab launched into space. With a little work it might be possible to make a locomotive rocket that would actually fly well and be recoverable

The cab looks nice. It wouldn't be making the journey ;) Besides, more Aero without it. I like easy :D Ralph

If that don't work I'm going to tape some Estes rockets to it and send it into space
1. A couple E9-8's and they'll be watching it zip past the ISS !
  1. Man, just think of all the UFO reports that would cause - heheheheheheheheh . . .

I sure do think that looks good, well kept but slightly weathered. Don't beat up on yourself so bad. There is a lot of us that would like to do that good of work.
True. It's still deeply frustrating when the goal is spiffed up varnish power to show your customers how good and well taken car of a company they are doing business with.

Ralph,
I’m going to stick my neck out here only because nothing seems to be working for you. I have been using Bondo Primer for several years now. I’ve put it over various paints and on almost every kind of surface I can think of. Bondo primer comes in three colors; ruddy red, grey and black.

After washing off whatever cleaning agents you might use and allowing to dry why don’t you try the Bondo grey primer just in case? I almost never advocate any particular brand, only report my own experiences with them, but in this case why not take a chance? It can’t be any worse than your experiences so far and might work, hopefully as well for you as it has for me.

Disclaimer: My apologies in advance if it doesn’t work. hehehe!

Do you use Krylon and Rustoleum over it? I use both Rustoleum and Krylon and I know there are times that would really be handy.

Richard,
I’ve been keeping an eye out for the Bondo Primer. I recall you saying you’ve had good results.

Doug,
I use Rust OLeum over Krylon Fusion. Also over Krylon Black. Usually don’t have any problems.
The tender was RO over Krylon Gloss Black and turned out fine.
