Mik's Challenge 2015 - Aaron L

Its that time of year again folks! The crew has been busy in the backshops on some new motive power for the roster, but have been very excited about taking part in the upcoming challenge again this year. A late night run to the pizza place for sustenance and some Official Stationary, has resulted in the following plan. I’m not sure if it was the local shine, or the late night reruns that have resulted in this, but here goes.

The lumber company is in need of a way to process and ship ballast out into the woods for the new freight branch that will be running over part of the line, so it was decided why not do it on site? So a call to the A.C.M.E. company has produced some ideas for a Mobile ballast making and distribution system. A man on the other end of the call by the name of Wile E. Coyote, assured them that this would be the perfect way to do it, and get rid of any wandering Road Runners. Not exactly sure about this plan, but the crew says he is trustworthy, so we shall see.

Here is the Official Napkin Blueprint for the 2015 season!!

Looks like a plan and with Wile E involved what could go wrong???

Will your model be bottle rocket powered??

Love anything with the name of “acme.” Brings back a lot of good cartoon memories. Nice idea for the challenge.

Aaron,

That drawing might disqualify you for the ‘prize’. It’s on a paper towel, not a napkin! Gosh you should know the difference between the two. Are paper towels a step above or a step below napkins?

Ain’t a napkin nuttin more then a paper towel folded into quarters? Ta git napkins with your chikin and your donuts fer free, ya hav to steil your paper towels.

Todd, the thought has crossed my mind

Tom, brings back a few of those for me as well

Craig, I know its a disgrace, but I haven’t talked the local pizza place into stocking stationary yet, they insist on these things lol

Dave, Thanks for the kit, it arrived in the shop this afternoon

The crew has placed in on the shop floor and are anxiously awaiting the starting whistle to blow

So today the crew recieved a shipment from Wile E. Coyote, he says it is the main ingredient for the build. I was still having my doubts, but the crew quickly unloaded it and moved it into the shop

Upon this I left the crew in the shop to work while I left to do some track maintenance. I was on my way back to the shop to get the repaired road switcher to switch out cars at the mill, when I heard one of them yell “watch this”, followed by a loud bang!!! I returned to find

That’s gonna leave a mark lol. This car may be in complete splinters if we get any more “lively” shipments like this one in hahaha

Aaron,

we need a category for most entertaining lead up to the actual build

Whoa!!.. who struck the match?.. LOL

And their off!!! In more ways than one… LOL

The shop hired this new foreman for the job, here he is seen looking over some final plans

and taking a final look through the parts catalog, uh oh

I’m getting a bad feeling about all this

To be continued… that is if the shop don’t blow up by then lol

The crew has been waiting for the foreman for the project to arrive, but he assured them they could go ahead with the start, so yesterday the car was built, and deck installed

And late last night it got the official lettering, and a set of wheels was scrounged from the yard. The guys won’t admit where the wheels came from, but told me if the boss wants to know why his inspection car is up on cinder blocks we know nothing about it haha

The job foreman should be here in a couple of days along with the next shipment of supplies. The boss promises BIG boom, which has me wondering if I should clear out the shop first lol

Very nice. I really like the color on the sides with the all important Acme lettering.

Doc Tom

The last words of an aircraft pilot, just before his machine impacts the ground are to call out for his mama, or, “Oh, shoot,” or words to that effect, except at the Deer Park aerodrome, where “Here, hold my beer, watch this,” is most often heard.

Aaron, them fellars from Deer Park?

you know Steve, I’ve heard word round these parts bout deer park, and heard the boys sayin somtin bout a visit back home. maybe these here folks are the long lost cousins from deer park I hear bout  may want to lock up your shine and TNT, the boys are comin back to town lol

I have had to pull my truck out of one or two muddy or otherwise inhospitable places because of these very words. In N. Idaho there wasn’t much to do besides drink beer and drive your truck where the deer and elk wont venture.

Devon, sounds like you found my crew lol

Last night the new foreman for the project arrived with another shipment! Here he is seen having a meeting with the guys, he sure is taller than I imagined lol

He told the crew they needed to scrounge up some dehydrated boulders, not sure where you get those round these here parts, but the crew is on the search. to be continued…

The crew has located some dehydrated boulders, just add a drop of water and then you have a boulder to blow up.

And here the Wile shows how it works

Shortly after this demonstration, the crew went out and brought in a water car that needed some brake work, once in the shop however the crew couldnt stop the car, running over a barrel of TNT, this resulted in another splintered car, and water flying across the shop. The boulder seeds were left uncovered, so long story short the shop is now bulging with boulders lol not sure how this is going to work lol

Wow I wouldn’t like to have a couple those in my pocket then fall into the pool

Hehe, Very funny;)

Looking forward to LMAO some more as I watch the rest of your build, Aaron. This is a great combination of two of our favorite things around here - logging railroads and Wile/ACME cartoons!
Good luck with the build, especially with dynamite and dehydrated rocks lying around. Well, just with ACME involved. Live dangerously, do you? For a couple of years now I’ve been thinking of putting an ACME PRODUCTS sign on one of my factories… Those dynamite barrels of yours are priceless!
Another thing we have a weakness for around here is figures. I make my own figures so naturally I have been admiring yours. Please do tell us who made them and where you got them!
Cheers !
